What'cha doing air gun related today?

I received 3 airguns this week... Two from Hatsan USA, and one from Airguns of Arizona. I purchased a Mod25 Supertact QE with the intention of making it my small pest dispatcher. It's advertised at 675fps with lead pellets, and I don't have to use up a whole CO2 cartridge, or get out the HOA compressor... Great right? Yeah, no. I strongly regret that purchase. Review to be posted shortly.

I also ordered a refurb Zada... I'd never heard of it, but it was only $80 for a break barrel with an interesting design and specs. Haven't tried it yet because, despite the sour taste Hatsan has left, I had something much better in store.

I also received my new Western Airguns Mordax Venom Longstrike in .22 cal. It's the normal Mordax, but with a bottle drop, bigger plenum, 300CC carbon bottle, and a 14-inch barrel. Yesterday was Hatsan day... Today was a palate cleanser. This thing is awesome. I haven't stretched it out yet, but I put about 50 or 60 pellets through it free-hand at 10yds, and was getting one-hole groups every time. I expect tight groups at 10yds, but one hole is uncommon for me, shooting unsupported.

Basically I was just sighting in and chronographing, and got caught up in the fun when I realized my tank was low. I'll have to take it out to 30yds another time. Unfortunately, that's my longest sightline in my back yard.

Incidentally, that thing is LOUD as it comes... And QUIET with a DonnyFL Sumo on it. After a few shots open, I was worried I wouldn't be able to use it in the back yard. That Sumo has never made such a difference before!
Enjoy that Mordax man. We're going to see a lot of great posts of you putting it through it's paces!

In the past I have always cleaned pellets with water and dawn. Today I tried swirling them around in 99% alcohol. I did this after tumbling 250 at a time in a microfiber towel. Boy the look shiny after this process! After water they always tarnish. I plan on doing a batch in dry wax to see how my S200 likes that.
Fx10.3’s are alcohol, the tin of Crosman are what water and soap cleaning looks like

Man you can sure tell the difference! What did you lube them with after this cleaning process?

Well I figured out how to call in coyotes. I just suck at making them stop… hit the one from yesterday… nothing on the one from today
haha.

Played with the Ghost today. New buttstock is great, tested the trigger pull as well finally with the new trigger gauge. Will try to get it down to a pound i'm thinking. Will test both AA rifles too. Finally got a decent group with the 20gr lights on minimum setting (965ish fps). Ended with a plinking shot on these cans, filled em both with water and stuck the smaller can inside. Blew threw em both at 50Y like nothing.....surprised me!

I noticed a sharp decline to my groups with my Bullshark. I decided to do a thorough barrel clean, mind you i did this about two weeks ago also. I have shot it a lot. Hopefully this brings it back. I was surprised how dirty it was.
I have an extra .42L bottle that I felt was too big for my notos sitting around, so I decided to put it to use. I installed the valve and filled it up. it won't get me much, but its nice to have.

Rich is the man! I ordered a bunch of the 71gr hybrid boattails and they ended up not working for my EQ he just had me send them back because they can be resized and is getting me sorted out.

He’s also amazing about talking with you and really figuring out the best option for what you want. Really can’t say enough good things about him. The slugs are immaculate too.

Very curious....what's with the knurling!?...less bore friction? Looks very well done anyways👍
Knurling can also be used to size up a slug. The knurled parts will sorta collapse down and help form a seal in the rifling.

I tried some from Varmintknockers that worked really well for the EQ. Also he’s another slug maker that freaking rocks. His slugs are very good and he’s very good to deal with.

I try very hard to use custom slug makers if I can. To me that’s kind of “buy American” I really want to support. Regular folks like us just enjoying and trying to improve the sport.
