What'cha doing air gun related today?

Just picked up a Crosman Vapor Max .177 from Amazon ( Used my Primed Rewards) Out Of Pocket Cost $25!
Have to say I'm Impressed and it looks like with a 10 rd mag & Impressive velocity using RWS Super H Point 6.9 Grain Pellets 900fps this pumper will be a Great Rodent Control Tool! Crosman really knocked It out of the park with this one!
Nibs and Riddick been playing with that. My granddaughter wants the Diana Chaser KIT instead. She already has a 880 and Model 35.

Having some fun…

Airgun Shooting Gallery - Reactive Target Fun

Various reactive targets. The Fizzy Tub Colors and the peanuts were the most fun IMHO, while the air drying clay never got firmer than foam.

Put together a video short with Edits, posted on @, FB and YT Channel (link below).

Refinishing my portable shooting bench. The finish is showing some degradation after sitting on the covered back porch for a few months.
Picture or it did not happen, right? The lighter colored piece, the top, and the smallest piece, the seat, are Baltic Birch. The darker pieces which are vertical when it is assembled are Radiata pine. This is the bottom side of the top when it is assembled for a right handed shooter. The other side looks a little better.

Big day for me shooting, I shot a 200 with my 177 revere on the 30 yard challenge target.

This evening i tried out a Milwaukee battery china special work light to see how it works. I have to report in that at low power it illuminates the target great. I am using fixed power Sightron scopes.
My plan now is to try and shoot in the evening a few nights a week. It easier when my 2yo son is in bed.

I did two full 80 shot strings with my S200 with Air Arms 10.3’s and FX 8.4’s
This is a new Huma reg that Trenier had on sale. The 10.3 I did first and it wasn’t the most consistent. Doing the 8.4’s it was a lot more consistent.
I also took a short string with my unregulated Valiant (CZ200), I reduced the HS a month ago. It is doing 675 fps. Oh and I took out an invasive agama with it on my palm tree.

I shot three rifles yesterday. I didn't get a photo of the Notos on the bench, but I tried the 30YC with it. Only scored a 169. Shockingly, it wan't bad shooting it with a fixed Athlon 10x scope, after shooting a lot with a fixed 24x and 36x. I've been using my MDT Send It with every rifle I shoot from bench.

I received 3 airguns this week... Two from Hatsan USA, and one from Airguns of Arizona. I purchased a Mod25 Supertact QE with the intention of making it my small pest dispatcher. It's advertised at 675fps with lead pellets, and I don't have to use up a whole CO2 cartridge, or get out the HOA compressor... Great right? Yeah, no. I strongly regret that purchase. Review to be posted shortly.

I also ordered a refurb Zada... I'd never heard of it, but it was only $80 for a break barrel with an interesting design and specs. Haven't tried it yet because, despite the sour taste Hatsan has left, I had something much better in store.

I also received my new Western Airguns Mordax Venom Longstrike in .22 cal. It's the normal Mordax, but with a bottle drop, bigger plenum, 300CC carbon bottle, and a 14-inch barrel. Yesterday was Hatsan day... Today was a palate cleanser. This thing is awesome. I haven't stretched it out yet, but I put about 50 or 60 pellets through it free-hand at 10yds, and was getting one-hole groups every time. I expect tight groups at 10yds, but one hole is uncommon for me, shooting unsupported.

Basically I was just sighting in and chronographing, and got caught up in the fun when I realized my tank was low. I'll have to take it out to 30yds another time. Unfortunately, that's my longest sightline in my back yard.

Incidentally, that thing is LOUD as it comes... And QUIET with a DonnyFL Sumo on it. After a few shots open, I was worried I wouldn't be able to use it in the back yard. That Sumo has never made such a difference before!

I bought a low power Stoeger springer and I’m still trying to get it to act right. I ended up getting an R7 for the small pest purpose, that I will hand down to my son for his first air rifle.
Can you get affordable rifles to perform, yes. But sometimes it’s just worth the price of admission to get a more finished product.
My little endeavor has taught me it’s easier to get an affordable pcp shooting well, but I also have more pcp experience.

Hear hear. I've been on the prowl for something convenient and handy, with at least 6fpe muze energy for small pests, and importantly, a very close sight-to-bore distance. I want to be able to take 1-10ft shots confidently, without guessing too much on the hold-over. I have a couple CO2 guns that do the job, but I don't like wasting most of a powerlet just to put down a single rat. I bought a Snowpeak PP750L from Krale... It does the job pretty well too, but I keep feeling like a single-stroke pneumatic, or a nitro-piston or something would still be more convenient for "one shot and put it away" dispatching. Mostly, though, I really like getting new airguns.

What I think I really want is a .22 Short pistol that's legal to shoot inside town limits.

I continue to play with my .177 TX200. Busted out the chrono and set up for 25Y. Normally that's 1/2-3/4inch group territory for it at that distance...most of the groups were an inch😔. The numbers were fairly consistent but its lost a TON of power. The first shot which ALWAYS shoots an inch or 2 low actually got captured by the chrono and it was about 10fps faster than the rest.....go figure?!
For reference the gun was shooting crosman 7.9gr past 925 fps and 8.44 were about 860ish when new.
Now 1.5 yrs later (2000+ - pellets?) it is shooting them both around 810-820fps🥺 I will be stripping it down, seeing what is up, and working on the trigger as well as i dont love it....lol gonna be down to one gun soon.

I don't like to ask obvious questions (or read them tbh) but did you try putting a couple of drops of chamber oil in your gun? About every 4-5 tins I use to for my FWB124Ds and never had a problem with that. I use to use Pena-Dry too, but I haven't seen that product in years.

OH MAN, I used to do that with my Slavia all the time🤔....never even thought of that! 🤦‍♂️
I'll try that first & see if the power goes up at all, I have light silicone oil with a long needle applicator...that should work? I always dab a bit of silicone grease on the breech o-ring every few hundred shots but haven't put any actual oil in the chamber. Will try that before a full strip/lube, its gonna happen regardless, but hoping to put it off till winter if I can! Thanks for the suggestion.
