What'cha doing air gun related today?

I shot the Condor .300 at 30 & 50 yards for the first time at paper with a bunch of different pellets and slugs. The wind was 9mph gusting to 18mph and I was having some trouble with the coronograph not reading and I did not set it for all of the different weights, so the data is not good. I shot 45gr-70gr and it can handle all of it with lots of power to spare. Pellets shot well at around 850 and slugs did well around 950. I will get better data next time when I am not shooting so many different slugs. Ignore the 200FPE that is not correct because I was not changing bullet weights in the crono so I will have to redo all that. Only shot a few at 50 because it was late, wind was really picking up, and it was getting hot. Seemed to really like the JSB Knockouts 50.15gr but I must have pulled one. The JSB was the only dish base I had, and it seemed to be a .303 going in flush. All the .300s went in about a 1/16th of an inch farther into the throat of the barrel. I only had 2 that were .303. It did okay with my 55gr homemade wad cutter slugs as well. Next time I will just shoot the JSB Knockouts and pellets to try to get it tuned a bit for both.

Shot the Liberty .177 out 25 yards on the ground w jsb exact 13.43. 70 shots, every so often I get a flier but I'm not checking the skirts before I shoot but overall super accurate at 950ish fps. The rifle also seems tighter 3700-2400 psi. Such a smooth rifle other than slugs. It's tight, I have H&N 16 gr, and they are super stiff loading and bad accuracy. Would lapping help this or do I need to size it? The bottom of the target was my sighting in.

Ive never heard of anyone being happy with h&n 16 gr slugs. If you were to lap the barrel for them to work or not nothing that shoots good now would shoot good anymore.

WTfilp happened???????? 🤯
I replaced both gauges using the recommended thin o-rings. Spent a couple of hours trying to get it to fill. I couldn’t get past the 100bar of the filter filling up. Air was pouring from under the gauges. Removed both gauges and replaced the o-rings with the thick o-rings and reinstalled them and still couldn’t fill it. I’d ensured it was cocked etc.. I removed the hammer and reinstalled it in case the valve was stuck. I then decided to fill it with the tank, figuring that the CS4 wasn’t able to overcome the leak. That worked now I could fill it and watch it degas - that was fun, not. I painted the area around the gauges with a mix of Dawn and a drop of water. The bubble told the story. I removed the gauge that was still leaking. The o-ring has a tear in it. So, I tried the original fill gauge, but that just leaked worse lol. People complain about Apple designing their products to deter user maintenance. They don’t even compare to the lengths that Airgun companies go to hide their o-ring dimensions in an effort to force us to buy packages of overpriced o-rings. Said somewhat in jest😉😂. I finally decided the fat o-rings are probably metric plumbing o-rings and ordered some on Amazon - hope that’s the problem. I am a little concerned because at one point it seemed like the witness hole at the side of the gauges might be bubbling too. Although that seemed to stop. I’m aware of the four o-rings that could cause that, but I’m not sure why they would be leaking. I didn’t touch the regulator and it didn’t leak before I started this endeavor, I hope that’s the case because the Huma regulator o-ring kits are out of stock 😁. So, I will wait for the o-rings to arrive and hope they fix the issue. This all started because I decided to play it safe and degas the rifle before working on the 3d printed stock. I keep seeing that old adage: “you get what you pay for”. My $275 Beeman and $475 Barra both have dedicated degassing screws. My two expensive BRK rifles both require you to crack a gauge to degas - that’s progress😂👺

And yes I still live life with that enduring thought: “it won’t happen to me, it only happens to others”. Including wondering why all the fuss about o-rings, mine will never leak.

Bill, it's been a while since I replaced gauges on the Sonoran or Sniper XR. Do they not have the Dowty washer?
The rifle comes with the Dowty washer, but the the Huma gauges come with a thin and a thick o-ring. Huma rec that Dowty washers not be used. If the O-rings don’t work, I’ll go back to the Dowty washers.

I had swapped my .22 Condor slug barrel with no choke over to my Escape UL. I wanted to shoot it to see what it was like in the other frame with the smaller tank. It is much lighter and just as powerful. It doesn't get quite as many shots, but I like it better this way. Yes, this one is supposed to be about slugs, but I wanted to see what pellets it might like as well just for fun. I shot them at high speeds because it would normally be setup for slugs. I enjoyed shooting the JSB Jumbo Beast 34gr, the JSB Ultra Shock 25.39gr, the Seneca pointed 32.4gr, the 15gr Hades, and the JSB Jumbo 15.88gr. There were others that I shot but they did not care for the fast speeds/power I was using. I was shooting these Jumbos at 1050fps and sometimes breaking the sound barrier. They still shot well. This gun likes 36gr slugs and I would like to match that with a pellet that I can switch back and forth without making adjustments to the power or the scope if I can do that. This would be a good hunting gun. This is just one of the groups with my normal flier from changing to a different ammo weight and I pulled one. I had never shot the Ultra Shocks before, and I was skeptical, but they shot pretty well. Anyways, I had fun.
