What'cha doing air gun related today?

Y’all meet my baby the Karma EQ HCT: Heartland Coyote Tune

Mods= trigger guard, bottle adapter, the 28” Lothar Walther barrel, CF shroud and barrel tensioning adapter. Shooting a custom made 71gr hybrid boat tail from BARS.

71gr @890fps
BC .19
20-25 shots a fill in 40°-50° weather.
That’s 125fpe on my cold weather tune. Come summer time she’ll push farther.

Special thanks to Heartland Airguns for making this possible… yall know him around here as @Cpt_Willson

If anyone you know wants to take their EQ to the next level have them reach out. My own gun isn’t for sale but these mods and tune can absolutely be had.

Awesome job! Looks extremely capable , but more importantly looks marvelous, lol. Looks factory, clean lines, nice!
Thank you! I did keep aesthetics in mind on this one. It’s just super convenient that CF looks good and in this case works as an AWESOME way to tension the barrel…the air stripper/moderator adapter threads directly onto the barrel… the factory system screws the shroud into the block and then it the air stripper threads onto the barrel. It works well but their tolerances are meh…

New system doesn’t thread on either end… the tub slides over the adapter near the block and the tube is cut slightly long so the air stripper actually compresses the CF and stiffens the entire assembly.

It’s quieter and more rigid than the factory system.

It also means I can switch barrels and can cut a whole new CF shroud in about 5 min… so this could be made into a modular barrel swapping package/system super easy.

Baby girl got her new 28” custom fitted Lothar Walther barrel dropped in today. This is a 28” .30 cal (.306 bore diameter) barrel instead of the 24” stock barrel… the holes in the radial transfer port are not the same size as the stock barrel either. Beyond that it’s the same 1:16” twist as the stock but with polygonal rifling instead of traditional lands and grooves.

Initial testing shows a significant increase in power.

Starting:

61.3gr flat base slugs
@880fps
105fpe

With new barrel but everything else the same:

62gr flat base slug
@915fps
115fpe

Current, no change on regulator but more preload on hammer spring:

62gr flat base slug
@930
119fpe

ALSO:

Testing the .30cal moderator from Heartland Airguns…

Stay Tuned 😉
Sweet looking setup there.

Shot 22lr/pcp edition of Elf on a Shelf Christmas Challenge with my Crosman 362 100th Anniversary, at 25 yards. Sure there were 14+mph winds blowing to and fro, but 63* I couldn't let a little thing like wind stop me.😅 My wind flags were going bonkers today. Snow forecasted tomorrow. 😔

Spent the good portion of today going through my 3 AirForce rifles. Probably going to sell 2. Love them but I have taken them as far as I can with commercial parts.

Clocking those regulated tubes and U-valve is a pain in the neck. Getting it so the cheek rest is smooth and all the fittings line up AND the angled adapter has to point the bottle downward.

Of course I had leaky joints and oring blowouts. Went through A LOT of air finding most of them. Still haven't got all 3 back to working.

Overnight all 3 held air so today is retuning the regulators. I set the power wheel to 0 and then adjust the regulator to my desired FPS using JTS 25.39GR pellets. Then the Power Wheel can be used to increase power from "plinking" to "raccoon" or shooting 33.95gr AEA pellets.

Then to decide which 2 go on the block. The .22 18" for sure. Between the 2 .25 shooting the Talon *seems* more consistent. Plus the Talon frame with the 24" barrel is weird looking so probably the Condor.

Do you have some non commercial parts you’re looking for?

I had some M18 male to male made up with a large enough flat shoulder to seat an oring. Needed if I use the m18 F to m18 F 4500psi tubes. That setup isn't as clean as the 3000psi tube and Cricket regulator.

Everything on the current setup is COTS.

Just tested the Condor
1700PSI
25.39GR pellets
Power Wheel at 0
1,000 FPS
56 FPE
It will easily do 90FPE+ with 33.95gr pellets

That condor is an absolute beast!!!!

PM me a part print. My shop hooked me up with a shop that does the kind of machining we don’t do here. So I have access to a lot more stuff than before and I just pay for time in the shop… if I told you how cheap it was for me to machine the Lothar barrel I did for my EQ it would curl your toes haha.

And yes I can do barrels. I have help from an 85year old retired machinist so he’s teaching me how to do them RIGHT. Considering what a success the EQ has been for me I think it’s going well haha.
