Forgot yesterday: shot my P-Rifle for 25 yard practice and see how it's doing post-clean. Also did some more practice with the 362 100th Anniversary at 25 yards with H&N Baracuda 15s.

Today:
- Practice/sighting with my Christmas Wish Red Ryder, followed by Christmas Challenge and Air Rifle Shooting Championship target at 7 yards. (Spoiler, neither went great.)
- Checked where 3 pumps at 7 yards got me on scope and then shot Christmas Challenge with 362 100th Anniversary and Baracuda 15s. (This one did go well). I was setting up for 25 yard pcp version of the Challenge when my youngest woke up from nap, so I put my equipment away.
- After post-nap neighborhood walk, I set "wind flags" every 5 yards from my property line backstop until I ran out of flags at 55 yards with said youngest. Was a nice verification of where I thought some of me spots were, including my normal target setup 20 yards forward from the property line backstop.

Watched a few videos on the tube, including a new channel where a kid was "speed cycling" with his Marauder and I forget the other gun. It seemed like fun, and was 68* with 12-14mph winds, so I took the P-Rifle (Timber) out to give it a whirl. Difference is, I can't just shoot at nothing. So I stood at 20 yards away and fast cycled 2 magazines (20 shots) at my 5-in-1 target. 19/20 hit target, 16/20 hit the center bull target.

Followed that up with bucket shooting tiny targets at 20 yards with front arm rested on my knee. Shot the slynger silhouettes, followed by 1/4 co2 carts set up, 4 lids from youngest child's fruit pouches (5/8" tall), pencil eraser, and pair of water bottle lids (one is 1/4" tall), and paintball with last 20 shots left before time to refill gun (it was already a few magazines deep before I started today). Took one last shot at end to ring bell at 40 yards.

Ended my evening with learning how to use the patchworm kit, by using it on my P-Rifle. While going along and cleaning the barrel, I began to wonder best method. Do y'all swap back and forth between ballistol and dry, 1-# ratio, ballistol until ___ then dry, or what method have you found to work best? View attachment 18648

I keep pulling a new soaked patch, no flipping around till clean. Then pull 2-3 dry, I don’t remove the breach o-ring.

I would strongly recommend getting a large pack of the patches, I purchased mine from Amazon and they are made in the USA.

These are identical to what is included with the patch worm kit $12.41 for 1000 patches.

I did that! Got the great big bag of em. No more than comes in the patchwork kit I knew I would need them pretty quick.

Thanks for sharing, less or more based on how the wet looks I assume? Also, do you flip the patches so it's really 30 passes wet, 6 dry?

Other than polishing barrels or brushing out a choke i may never use my rod kits again. Patchworm kits are the way! I dont flip the first dirty patches and reuse em but as they get cleaner and cleaner I will. I wont hurt anything that's for sure. I start with wet (ballistol) patches and then finish with a wet and dry alternating. My better barrels may only need 6 patches and they are G2G for a year
Just fired some pellets through the Ghost in my shop and all seem well with it. Used leftover cement board in the trap....man is that stuff tough vs drywall!! Shooting 28gr pellets @950fps @ 10Y and they only went through 3 sheets and got stuck in the 4th!

No, I have shot .22, and currently a .20 as well. My other patch worm kits have different cylinders that attach for different calibers up to .45 cal. I think that they even make shotgun sizes as well. I have a tackle box that is loaded with patches. On a quiet night I swear you can here them breeding in there.

They really are the thing to use for anything that you care about. Most of my custom rim fires have had nothing else down them. I tend to use conventional cleaning equipment for the other stuff because they are big enough for bore guides, and such. I keep a few around for the air guns, always have one hanging in the gun safe so I can run a dry patch down the bore before putting away the rim fires. I probably began doing it with my match pistols back in the day with weed eater line.

Before you make life miserable for yourself, like I started out with... You feed the end furthest from the bead, that is conveniently pointy to easily pierce the cloth. Also, then you can pull vice trying to push.

Today I took a "break" from my year of the pumper to shoot the break barrel off-hand challenge at 10M. Started out with sighter check from M1A Underlever on my 5-in-1, smacked the center hard. Next I attempted the same with my Crosman Diamondback, after removing its scope. After 20-30+ pellets from various ranges I gave up figuring out what my zero was set at and put it down.

Picked up the M1A again, another pair of 5-in-1 ringers and I set to shooting the bell target. At the end, I was tickled pink to have a respectable 33/50, including a perfectly centered 5.

I then grabbed the Diamondback again, with a different approach from the 10M line, and set about finding and raising my POI to where it should be. I think the sights were previously set for 20 or 25 yards... now I think that my zero is 10M and about 30-35 yards. The rear sight is sitting quite high now. This process took another 20-30 pellets. Afterwards, I shot the bell target with the Diamondback as well. I called my 2 fliers, do to known jerking on my part, so was also pleased with what I thought was a 28/50 including a just above center 5. After using a pellet as a plug later, I broke the line for next ring on 2 I had downgraded, and final score is actually 30/50.

Ended by grabbing 177 cal Gamo Bone Collector Bull Whisper and after verifying zero on the 5-in-1, shot a 26/50. This included a group of 4 in one ragged hole (just not near the 5).

With a 35 yard shot to ring my bell with the Diamondback, my break barrel shot total for the day ended in the vicinity of 75-100 across 45-60min span of time. And I couldn't be more pleased with the results.

Good to be stocked up for sure. In my case it's mostly 25 caliber patches which work for 30 cal as well. I'm under the mindset that to many is not enough! Lol

It must be a generational thing, but every time I see some nice patches I always think " I should probably get some, don't want to run out".

Tonight was seeing how my low tune S200 is coming along. A new lighter hammer spring and reg set at 65 bar.
A received a nate-chrony a few days ago and tonight was the first opportunity for me to use it. I really like it.
Tonight I looked at what my numbers were doing, how long the rifles takes to settle in. This is still a new regulator.

I will be trying this thing at 30 yards.

I bought the Buck-Chrony because it works with the Buck-Rail modular moderator I already own.
The red square are playing with the sections of moderator. I ended up using 1 7.0 and two 7.5's. The chrony is mounted on my S200 barrel using a threaded adapter with grub screws.

This is only at 13 yards. I wanted to just see where I was at. The dots on this page are 0.25" (6.35mm), the grid is 1cm.

Edit. This was after a 3k fill. I did another graph of the JSB's last 25 shots, that are more similar to the Falcons reg situation. I will be doing more testing, but I know right now I need to fire some shots ahead of precision target shooting right now. Hopefully it settles down, or I just fill to like 180 bar and it goes away.
