Today we have details of the latest Weihrauch HW 100 X announcement. Plus there’s also news of some changes coming to the HW 110 range.
HW 100 Family Background
Weihrauch launched its first PCP air rifle, the HW 100, more than 20 years ago. HAM first reviewed the HW100 – actually a HW 100T-FSB model in .177 caliber, to be precise – back in 2017. It was an easy HAM Gold Award winner with a stellar 94% score.
Doug Rogers, the HAM reviewer, loves the HW 100 and still competes regularly with his .177 caliber version in Field Target competition.
So there’s no doubt that the HW 100 has proven itself over the years. In the typical Weihrauch manner, it has been continuously developed with small, but significant improvements.
Weihrauch HW 100 X Specifics
Now we have the HW 100 X. The new model series is kicked-off with the HW 100 X-S laminated. This model features a newly-designed sporter stock of laminated wood.
There’s an adjustable cheekpiece and butt plate, together with an M-LOK rail in the forend. The safety is ambidextrous, with operating levers on both sides of the gun.
Weihrauch has redesigned the gun’s regulator for improved shot-to-shot consistency. Plus the HPA tube now fills to 3,625 PSI (250 bar), up from the previous standard 2,900 PSI (200 bar). The company says that this increases the shot count by more than 50%.
There’s also a welcome weight reduction. The new, higher-pressure HPA tube is manufactured from Aluminum, rather than the previous steel. Weihrauch says that this reduced the overall weight by 12.7 Oz for the full length model, 8.5 Ounces for the shorter-tube carbines.
As with existing HW 100 models, the new HW 100 X series will be available in .177, .20 and .22 calibers and incorporate the existing robust and easy-to-load 14-pellet magazine.
There’s no details of pricing and power levels yet. But one thing’s for sure, the HW 100 X will be available in the USA at Airguns of Arizona just as soon as possible!
HW 110 Series News
Weihrauch has also made several design changes to the HW 110 ST and HW 110 ST-K models. Both products now feature a black-finished stock and changes to the fore-end. The stippling has been redesigned, too.
In this context, both models have also been given new names: HW 110 S and HW 110 SK.
And yes, the HW 110 was another HAM Gold Award winner when we reviewed the HW 110 TK version in 2020!
