EVOL Use only Ultimox Teflon Grease

Looks like I’ll be ordering some too. Pulled my Evol out to wipe down this evening and the reservoir is flat, as in “on zero.” I haven’t shot it in a while. Didn’t think it had been that long. Looks like I’ve gotta change o-rings myself. This thread came right on time.

From Tom......

We tried everything we could think of to remove this, but it would not come out. I had to cut it out in the lathe by making it paper thin, and then folding itself on itself to remove. As you can see in the picture on the right, there is aluminum stuck in the thread, and there is also some damage to the thread below, which I can’t explain.

I am guessing when I was getting a little grabbing when removing I should have stopped. Forcing the end plug caused even more damage and this is the result. Be careful guys and go slow!

Thankfully Tom is getting me taken care of and I should have my Paradigm back up shooting soon!

Agreed!! That is why I have no problem paying for a replacement. I know the threads were clean and very nicely machined when tuning the regulator before. So this is something I did .... somehow. Both Tom and I are baffled at how this happened, about the only thing I can think of would be galling. And when it got stuck I forced it apart and messed up the threads.

It was my fault but I am working with Tom to get a replacement.

Be smart when working, don't be like me....be smart. Lol

Wow that's unfortunate! Sucks this happened to you but hopefully this will save others from having the same problem in the future. My ultimox arrives tomorrow so I'll probably tear down and do it then
Agreed!! I have always been taught that you learn far more from mistakes and failures, than you do from success.

So learn from my mistake and go forth.

well i am no expert but i am a machinist and i would say it will saty put forever or until you pull it apart wash it up and get ready to reassymble maybe?
just a thought.

Ups lost a package on me also. @CTAirgunner sent it to me from 2hrs away, and it went missing. Filed a claim and all. Crickets from ups. Then, 3 months later out of the blue, it shows up on my doorstep. So it took ups 3 months to deliver a package 2hrs away. I’d say there’s some issues going on there. Lol.
Yet with benefits a UPS brown driver after 5 years of employment will make $175k a year....
