The Umarex Avera CO2 pistol is a low-priced – sub $50.00 – pistol that was first shown at the 2025 IWA OutdoorClassics show in Germany. Here it is, in our photograph below taken at the show.

It’s clear that the Avera is a companion product to the Umarex MarkPoint breakbarrel air pistol that has created a lot of interest in the Hard Air Magazine Community.
In fact, the Avera is already listed on the PYRAMYD website with an estimated availability date of 08/04/2025!
Although equipped with open sights looking similar to those of the MarkPoint, the Avera has an adjustable rear sight. It is also fitted with Picatinny rails above and below the barrel. This will allow for optical sights and illumination devices such as lasers – one of the key asks for the MarkPoint by HAM Community members. Thanks Umarex!
The Avera is supplied with three 8-round magazines and is powered by a standard 12 Gram CO2 cartridge. In .177 caliber only, it has a maximum Muzzle Velocity specification of 380 FPS.
According to the Pyramyd website, the action gives a choice of single-action and double-action shooting. In double-action mode, the pull weight is listed at 8.8 Lbs – understandably. However, single-action operation should be significantly lighter.

Interestingly, there’s a similar-looking model called the “SPA Expert” listed on the Umarex Germany website. The Expert is described as double-action only. Hopefully there’s two versions and the single-action capability really will be present in the US market model…

As we can see from the photograph above, the pistol grip slides down to provide access for the 12 Gram CO2 cartridge.
Overall length of the Umarex Avera CO2 pistol is given as 12.75 Inches and the weight 1.14 Lbs.
Although it’s early days yet, there’s plenty of signs that this could be a popular new introduction from Umarex. Like the MarkPoint, it’s so cheap that you can hardly go wrong!
