Heavy rain on Friday gave way to oppressive humidity & intermittent showers on Saturday, but Sunday greeted us with sunshine. Still a little sticky, but but much improved- downright tolerable even!

Had some wind, 6-12 mph from the northwest according to the weather app. That's the most favorable direction at this course, coming from straight behind us for the majority of lanes. At least to me... find it much easier to deal with than crossing, quartering, or head winds. Did have a couple lanes where it was quartering.

Had a couple of firsts this month- first shooter to use slugs, and first shooter to do the Full Monty. We set 3 targets on each lane, with sub-50 dfpe guns shooting near & middle, rimfires & 50+ fpe guns shooting middle & far. Sub-50 guns have the option of shooting all 45 targets for a total of 90 shots.

Troyer without wind/elevation multipliers: near & middle 33.8, middle & far 37.7.

It really is a great time.

Starting from scratch definitely presents some challenges. The two biggest obstacles IMO - a place big enough to set a course (owned by a willing entity), & the initial cash required for targets.

No way around the first one, but creativity can help with the second. Maybe substitute cheap (or better yet, homebrew) swinging targets for some lanes, etc.

@JoeWillie - you got me thinking ***WARNING - DANGER AHEAD***
Why are they "bullets" when intended for powder guns, but "slugs" when intended for air guns???
Is it the same reason we drive on parkways but park in driveways??

Excuse me while I fetch a 3rd cup of coffee 🤪
