Spring/Piston TX 200 Walnut stock

Not shabby at all for a start! I wonder what the consensus is on pellet head size on these guns? just ordered a tin of 4.51 head size air arms pellets for my mk3 left hander. Finally y had one In stock and I ordered it that day

Thanks, I don't know about size. These were all 4.52 I believe.

Well Scriv my brand new TX 200 walnut LH just rolled in and have to say it's just gorgeous !!! I admit it's a dull finish and not something I'm used to in a wood stocked gun, but the wood itself is as expected from AA BEAUTIFUL!! Had to pop a shot off outside (wet and pitch dark) and it sound like nothing I've shot before. fast and crisp shot cycle, def will have to get used to the underlever. The gun definitely has character (disagreeing with you on that) and I'm thinking this Saturday is supposed to be some nice weather!

To be clear, I was stating that my stock lacked character. However, I'm glad that you are happy with yours. I've managed to put a couple of hundred pellets thru it. The shot is smooth. The bumper that protects the barrel from the cocking lever broke off in less than fifty shots. O Ring kit on the way. The weather has been not the best, but the rifle shows promise. It seems to prefer pellets that are 4.50 so far. Fun time with all the discovery. Good times.

I bought the jsb multi pack of different pellets and the gold standard AA 8 grainers to try. gonna stick to them (I went a little crazy on my .22 gun and probably have 20 different pellets and slugs for it) This also is my first non ambidextrous gun and I actually love the grip, it's a bit chunky too! I'll report back if I get some shooting in on weekend with it.

It seems to be almost a rite of passage for that "little rubber baby bumper" to fail early on. Mine certainly did. My fix, along with many others has been to go into town and purchase a small array of automotive O rings an place a couple of them in the wonderfully supplied indents at the end of the cocking arm: this well prevents all damages. Orv.

I couldn't fault the trigger at all, so I let it be. So far all of my one hole groups have been with the qys. Have fun.

I've seen them run the gamut from plain jane straight grain wood to the gorgeous one you see on Pyramyd's ads. It's a crapshoot, but I recently bought a new S510 and the wood had some fairly nice grain to it. It was, however, pretty dry, so I put three coats of Tru-Oil on it followed by a coat of Renaissance wax.

Definitely an improvement, did u sand it prior to applying the oil? And it only seems to be the walnut stocks.....my s510 poplar stock is of course fairly plain but the finish is nicer.

Nope. No sanding. I've done this to my Daystate Revere with about the same results.

The rifle continues to improve. Trying to figure out how to keep the stock screws tight. Seems to enjoy AA 8.4's 4.52 shoots the first half dozen or so pellets of the day anywhere it pleases then settles in to a group.

Oh nice! I got the AA 8.44 in 4.51, as they had no stock on the 4.52s. Pellet to bore fit is very nice on em. I saw in jsb they sell in 4.50 to 4.53.....quite a range! I was so excited to shoot it this past Saturday that I didn't even touch the barrel first. Pleased with accuracy so far on mine, but will pull some patches and shine a light down er soon..

I dry patched the bore before shooting, got a bit of goo out of there. After a few pellets I tried ballistol, and was surprised how dirty the patch was after letting it soak a couple of minutes.

My TX 200 is coming around. Seems to prefer qys at 4.50, not really liking the H&N sized to 4.52, nor the AA sized 4.52 as well. Might try 4.51

I tried pushing a patch through and it fell in the silencer/shroud area and I couldn't fish it out. Didn't want to shoot it out so I dry fired it out

Just as a word of caution, but TX200 's don't do well with dry firing. If faced with a time when dry firing is called for, I think that I'd take a couple of felt cleaning pellets, dipping the first in Balistrol, followed by a dry a dry one and then shoot them both out, hoping that the patch and two felt patches come shooting out. As a Canadian ANY sound suppression has to be removed from any gun sold so there is a 'dead' area between actual barrel end and shroud end? The patch fell in there as I was trying to push a patch through with ballistol like I would do on my breakbarrel (muzzle end first).... I tried a dental pick, small piece of wire...it was stuck in the abyss. I dry fired and out she came. I didn't want to ☹ but needed the patch out! AGS had stock on the cleaning kit for only $10 so I bought 2. Will clean thoroughly and get to shooting it again this week is the plan! thanks.

If yours is built like that I might have tried a bronze .22 caliber bore brush to snag it. Obviously not going in to the rifling, just the open area of the shroud.

Anyone order a Walnut stock from pyramid air? Did it look ok? Did it look like a 2x4? I spoke with customer service, and they are unwilling to send a picture of the stock before they ship the rifle.

I have 2 with Walnut stocks, not fancy but decent enough I know in time they will gather scuffs and dents and gain character. But they are decent quality.

The rifle is proving it's worth. Shoots well with pellets on hand, really likes the qys. It's usually the rifle I grab when I just have a minute, and want to shoot a bit. I'm beginning to appreciate it for what it is. Brings a smile to shoot it.

Put it on the radar today with AA 8.4, and the QYS of the same weight. AA ave 879, es 9, sd 2.3
The QYS ave 853, es 16, and sd was 4.6, neither was what I would consider bad, I was just amazed because the QYS always seems to out shoot the AA. I guess more accuracy testing is in order. Maybe the answer lies in trying then AA sized to 4.51mm. Off hand shooting there is no difference, and that is what truly matters.
