To sort or not sort pellets ?

So I've recently started shooting field target and currently using jsb/fx 13.4 shooting around 19 fpe. I have been weighing pellets since I've started and after sorting into +/- .06 group weights it seems no matter what weight im shooting from 13.2 all the way to 13.7 I don't notice much of any shift in POI .
I have a buddy with a 22 agt he uses to hunt with, not sure what fps or fpe he is shooting at , but swears it makes a huge difference.

Does sorting by weight have a greater impact on poi with increase to fps/fpe ?

I do atleast when weighing pellets look at every skirt for damage so that's not so much a waste of time . I know some target shooters swear by measuring head size also and wondering if that is impacted more with elevated fps /fpe .
Thanks for any comments !

From what I have read head sizing seems to be important. HAM did an article on it

and if I was one of these gifted online people, I’m sure I could provide you a link, but as you can plainly see from my attempt, I am not. 😁

Here ya go 🤓

I sort by weight. At what range are you testing? I did @ 55 yds and while not a huge difference it does seem to get rid of some flyers. At 100 yds more noticeable i think
Started weighing when I started field target , all my practice shooting with different weight ranges has been at the 55 yard distance. Maybe it does matter more at longer distances ? I will definitely be checking out the head sizing link for sure!

If your like me you won’t like head sizing though it does make a difference. I got 3 tins of jsb 10.3 that went right thru the 4.46 hole on my gauge. Couldn’t figure out what was wrong till i checked the tin before were 4.50. Very tedious to head size
