Spring/Piston The story of Norma Jean, my Blonde TX200

Norma Jean is finished and ready for HFT...I did sight in JFK at 35 yards and will see what holdovers I get from 10-55 yards....Not sure if I need to push the "0" out to 40 so I only have hold overs.....Why am I doing this you may ask :unsure:

So I can set up a ranging wheel on JFK for hunting or maybe even a HFT competition....

Crusty Critter shoot today. The range will be set up for springer and pistol so only out to 35 yards.....This will be a good test to see if I have Norma Jean's new glasses and wheel set up correctly.....Boss lady is going with her Ghost, but practicing offhand and kneeling.

Well not a bad outing for Norma Jean. We got 45 out of 48 and took 2nd place. Mark, a ground dweller that uses a harness took first with a 47.

The true Stud Muffin was Lauren P. getting ready for worlds in a few weeks, shot the first half kneeling 24-24 the second half she shot standing and got a 23-24 :eek: The next to the last lane she made a bad wind call and just missed the KZ. Boss Lady got a 27 kneeling/standing the course.

Lots of fun and smack talking on the line, just like we like it....

With the State PCP Field Target match over, it is time for Norma Jean to start working out before Ohio in three weeks. I also signed up for speed in springer so I will need to figure that one out. Should be a good time getting her up to speed. Or is it me up to speed :unsure:

Crusty Critter shoot tomorrow. Norma Jean has been pulled out of her hiding place and should be ready to go. Since it is Pistol/Springer day the targets will be out to only 35 yards....let's see how we do....Let's see if I can beat 45 like I had last time. With thunderstorms in the forecast you never know what will happen.

Didn't do very good on Tuesday with Norma Jean...Yes the wind kicked a lot of our A$$ES, but I brought Norma Jean home and took her all apart. Cleaned and re-lubed her....Now I have to get my dope chart done in the next few days so I can get some practice in before Pyramid Cup.....I did find one of my breech O rings was crushed pretty bad and completely flat on the top. So 2 new breech O rings were installed.

Hey @Pesty3782 I have been happily following along on your springer (TX200) journey! Mine has lost its accuracy a few weeks ago. I would get 3/4" 10 shot groups consistently with many different pellets between 7.87 and 10gr, often with no fliers. I have checked all bolts and hardware on the gun itself and the scope, Cleaned the barrel too and it was not dirty. What I haven't done yet is a proper strip/relube.
Is that your regimen then when Norma J looses accuracy? Mine is a few thousand pellets in and internals have never been touched. I think it sounds louder/harsher as well...its gotta be that or the scope itself🧐

I take Norma Jean down when I feel accuracy is going down, but also when my hold offs change a bunch IE Crusty Critter shoot. I also changed the breech O rings….one was flattened pretty bad…After that my ES went down a lot.

Sounds like you need to get it apart, clean and relube. I don’t remember the video, but there is a great one on re-lubing the TX.

Tom Gaylord's Pyramyd Air blog of five or six years ago did a simply great video on striping, cleaning and properly lubing the Tx200. Orv.
