Show me your low power setups!

I got a chance to test out an Atomic this past weekend. This was one purchased from Derrick and had his trigger job which made it really light with a great break. Comparing it to my Pathfinder I found it to be a slimmer smaller package. Quite nice to hold and shoot.

I'd say depending on the shot count you need either an Atomic or Pathfinder would be a good package.

I also saw Matts atomic. I wasn’t able to shoot it, but I got to feel the ergonomics, and the cocking and trigger effort was phenomenal.
How different were the triggers between your pathfinder and his atomic? I know power levels are drastically different, but is yours manageable?

I had already lightened up the springs and polished the sear bits some to make my trigger better. But I found Matt's is even smoother on the break. Whichever you go with I'd have Derrick do his work on the trigger.

Well, I built little guy because I desperately wanted a BSA and flat out could t find the one I wanted. This a little FX streamline I picked up while having a beer and cruising eBay. I paid waaayyyy too much for it. And long story short, after a few months of it leaning in the closet I ran across a BSA R10 stock on eBay and an idea was born. If I can’t find a BSA, build one. Bought a 500mil barrel set, cut it down, used a Panthera plenum for an air reservoir and inletted that R10 stock to accept the Streamline action. Shoot H&N Green Match 5.5gr at 750fps for a whooping 6ftlbs. You’ll make more noise dropping a pencil and puts a whollop on sparrows inside my neighbors tractor barn.

MadeintheUK,

What exactly are you looking for in the way of low power? Do you want the latest and greatest or would you like something that may have been around for a while? Personally, I have a bunch of low powered airguns. The queen of my collection is a 1906 BSA. I also have a Webley Service MK 2 from the early 30s. I have a Diana 34 that has been tuned down to around 12 FPE.

There are many "collectable" airguns out there that do not cost an arm and a leg to own in the power range you seem to be looking for. They are also extremely accurate. Maybe you should give a couple of these "old gals" a try?

I actually found what I was looking for. I tried a notos at first, and wasn’t happy with accuracy. I’ll keep it and tinker, but ended up with a brocock ranger at 15fpe shooting cphp pellets accurately to 45yds so far. Very happy with it.
