Hang target at 125 yards
Tether tank to "RIP" my 30 cal EVOL
Position Caldwell Tackdriver front bag and Caldwell rabbit ear bag
Alinge Vortex Diamondback Tactical scope cross hairs.
I am firing 5 pellets to hopefully produce a better than average CTC
Ammo is JSB 45.1 weighed and travel at 920 FPS
Lock and load and take shot 1, hits a bit left. That's OK, only wanting to get a good group. I will work on POI next week
Fire next 4 pellets and go retrieve target
Was a real good morning. The CTC was 1 1/4 inch CTC
Loving this shooter. It makes this 73 year old look like a stud! Thanks Tom and gang for what you do with these fine shooters.

2 questions.

1. What are the jsb 45.1? Haven’t heard of them yet!

2. How is the 30 for noise? Would you call or backyard friendly? Are you using any extra moderation?

Thanks!

Great groups btw!!
I think the 45.1 are from his 44.75, jsb is just horrid with consistency I'm just realizing now.

When I weighed a tin of 33.95 , I had 32.8 to 34.3, over a grain difference in one tin.

The 45.1 are weighed from the 44.7. Jsb have a large spread in each tin. I weigh each tin and label them and put in separate containers.
The EVOL has(for me) a very adequate moderator. I dont pay any attention to the report but enjoy the smack of the pellet when it strikes the target

I've seen people replace the moderator on Evols but the OEM ones LOOK GOOD and WORK well, but such is life

Are you finding them to be throwing flyers like the .22 MRD, or is it just the varience itself that's the problem? I don't weigh mine, but they shoot really well. I just watched the two hour AEAC video of the NAC yesterday and Rusbear made an open plea to JSB to fix their .22 MRD problems. Everybody has been talking about it but I haven't heard or read that JSB confirms that there is a problem or that they are doing anything about it either. Rather strange with them being the best for so long.

Nope they flew straight as could be, I have absolutely zero issues with the 33.95, that's why I stopped weighing pellets I found with them it made no difference.

The JTS 30 cal should be in my hands Thursday. I will weigh a tin, chrony a couple 10 shot strings and fire off some 50 and 100 yard targets.
Will post here with my opinion on this ammo.
4 tins of 30 cal JTS ammo arrived late one evening last week. Upon going to bed I set the scales and ammo on the kitchen table so I could start first thing next morning. Its morning and I grab a cup of coffee, calibrate the scale and begin. The tins are 100 count and I plan to weigh all 4. Read the next bit real close. I weighed 30 some in a row that were 45.1G, remarkable. When I finished the first 100 there were 96 45.1, 1 that was 45.2, 2 that were 45. Trust me, I didnt need to weigh the other 3 tins.

I am doing a side by side comparison with the JSB and JTS ammo at both 100 and 125 yards. I will report back when I have finished and made a decision on which has my vote, JSB has been my ammo for a long time but weighing 10 tins compared to not having to weigh the JTS is a big big plus for me, and rest assured they fly straight and true from RIP, my beloved EVOL

I hear good things about the JTS ammo. JSB 30 cal. have always been horrific in terms of mass consistency. Although head diameter has been very good.

JSB better wake up and invest in their process control if they want to hold their market position. I have not seen JSB, JTS, or ZAN's process, but my educated guess is that JSB's presses are beyond their prime and can no longer hold reasonable precision where JTS and ZAN most likely have newer more modern presses.

It is often said that JSB changes their designs without notice. This may be true or is it possible they are running existing tools on different presses and getting different results?

I could be completely wrong but I think we can all agree consistency in ammo is prerequisite to success which leads to growth and popularity.

Along with price. Don’t forget price. Lol

H&N tend to be more uniform in size and shape, but they cost a lot more than jsb, and for some reason, I haven’t had much luck shooting them out of what I’ve owned.

I’m going to order some of these jts to try in my 30. Maybe @CTAirgunner1288 can do a side by side comparison video when he gets my 30 to review.

I would have thought that Travis would honor PA's buy 3 get the fourth free but they are not for the JTS, maybe in the future. That was a let down for me .Anyone know if you can purchase in bulk and get a better deal?

Edit to correct post, sorry about that: PA DOES have buy 3 and get fourth free for the JTS ammo. They don't accept the 10% off promo code at tis time, maybe that will change in the future.
