Benchrest Pyramyd Air cup 2024

Well the cup is over and im now preparing for EBR. But day one of my first relay was great the wind was crazy as always at these big events. Worst tail wind ive ever faced. First card Bench 16 was a 224 3x felt good. Second card bench 40, moved benchs wind followed lol 226 4x. 450 7x put me 3rd in my relay and gave me a birth into the 2024 pyramyd air cup benchrest finals. Finals day i showed up with 5 minutes till go time. Had to rush to get my flags out and gear to the bench. Wind again followed. Tail wind with a crazy right to left cross. I took a breather loaded my mags and started. The relay felt good my wind calls were on point 98% were 9s and 10s with two 8s Tied for the highest X count in the finals. Finals score was a 231 7x and good enough for a 4th place finish amongst absolute killers on the bench. Im happy with my performance but i am hungry for a top 3 finish. These events are no walk in the park, as you are competing against 150 to 200 Pro benchrest shooters. Breaking Top 10 is an incredible achievement. I ended the finals with one of the highest 3 card agg scores 681 14x.

I did shoot fieldtarget but was so wrapped up in making finals i was just not in the game. It was fun and the shooters who do it regularly are killers and take it very seriously so bring your A game if you hope to hang. I could not hang this go around.

Good shooting!! And ya the wind out there can be miserable! Even the bench you get can be a curse or blessing! Shot there last yr and it was fun but im old and don’t have the money and time to spend chasing the dream like many of these guys do.

I am after a top 3 finish and lord willing EBR will be the one. As long as i do my part and make the finals ill have my shot.

You did well sir! I have watched a few of the videos on this event and everyone was commenting on the wind being horrible What barrel length is on your Red Panda and how long have you been shooting it? The field Target looks like my game, precision bench shooting with that many people would unnerve me

The barrel is stock i believe its 24 inch. Has a 23mm outter diameter monster bull barrel. I got it a few months ago.

The barrel is stock i believe its 24 inch. Has a 23mm outter diameter monster bull barrel. I got it a few months ago.

As well as you did, you decided to shoot a different gun (.30 Skout Evo with SubMOA barrel) for EBR... Please explain your reasoning for that...? Thanks!
