Pinty 22 cal pcp

I personally don't mind the pull of the trigger, although I have shot early a couple of times before breathing supported. It did mess me up for going to the 3622 and it's trigger afterwards.

Hopefully work on groups this week, just know even from a stand there is more than a degree of Papa T factor involved. 😂
We had 73 degrees here today so i shot about 250 JSB 18.3 pellets and honed my skills on paper targets out to 25 yards and really enjoyed the lack of wind here today so it was amazing! It's supposed to be 80 degrees tomorrow so hopefully no wind and more airgun therapy for me as well. Crazy weather here in Missouri we're having!

My moderator from Red Corn Outdoors came in today, a perfect fit! Still waiting for adapter to arrive to use 1/2x20UNF, but M14x1 works perfectly. So... I took it out to do my first power, accuracy, shot count test. 51 shots, from 250 bar down to 125/130 bar, 48 of those on the regulator. The first shot was lowest, the gun may have been slightly overfilled to cause this.
JTS Dead Center 18.1gr pellets:
51 shots; Avg FPS 841; ES 73.34; SD 12.88; 28.4 FPE
Remove first and last 3 shots and ES drops to 33.81.
Did "magazine groups" of 10. Scope adjustments after group 1 and 2. Haven't measured CtC yet, but this was also trying out the new Orca Targets I got in.

Glad you finally got to run it through its paces. Wind was 50 mph today so no shooting and that's too bad as it was almost 70 degrees today!

Haven't been able to get back out with the rifle yet, but they used my review and photos for their advertisement email they sent out yesterday. 😍

(There is more to the review, but I didn't want to screenshot 3x).

Snuck out for a sunset shoot. Ran Norma 17.6gr pellets this time. The numbers are much more spread and interesting this time. Also shot 21 was bad skirt, but I noticed after putting in mag and couldn't get it back out so shot it. Ran 60 shots this time, last 10 were at objects not paper. Best I could tell they were hits where Papa didn't pull his shot (including one out to about 50 yards). I will say, the Pinty scope I put on made the target(s) visible even though I couldn't see it with naked eye due to fast darkening. Shot from 250 to 100 bar. Technically green lasts until 75 bar, so might be able to get more shots before out of the green, even though off the reg before shot 50.

Did another round of testing today, this time with CPHP before dinner. 81 shots found me at the end of the green (75bar) from 250 bar start. First shot still super low from rest, and I saw a similar power rise as the Normas. But, looks like 57 shots on the reg this time. After the 50 shots on paper, 51-81 were plinking at cans/3in swinging target at 25 yards, and bell and can bottoms at 50 yards, with 10mph+ winds. I discovered that my zero for 25yds was still good at 50yds. I never missed bell or 3 in spinner. About 50% on can bottoms, when wind wasn't taking them first. The can at 25 is already so ragged, I can't be sure what we're misses vice pass through. I probably won't intentionally run CPHP through it again, but numbers were interesting to see. I think next test will be a return to JTS Dead Center 18.1gr, see if numbers look similar to first time or strange power creep there too. Also, shoot all the way to 75bar, like the CPHP, and see how many shots. Last shot today was still 15 fpe, down from peak of 27.64. Last 2 sessions have me realizing the noise I hear now is more gun action than air noise, the moderator has taken all of that bark away. My P-Dapter was supposed to be mailed out today, so hopefully by next week I'll actually have it at last.

Well returned to the JTS Dead Center 18.1gr pellets today to verify that numbers looked consistent, but I ended up with an unknown chrony issue and 5 of 91 shots were recorded. But... groups stayed about the same, maybe a little worse. Was fun watching the pellets come in for landing on my long range bell. Also plinked my slyngers at 25 yds with bottom of the green band shots. Final pressure was just below 75bar, probably 65-70 bar range. 68/91 shots on paper (target came unhinged and plinked the last 2 shots of that groups mag.

11 different pellets, 82°F temps with 15mph tailwind, 25 yards rested. 5 shot groups with 2 pellets fired off-target every swap to "condition". Also fired 2 shots after each fill, before target work, to account for low fps issues I've been seeing. Some surprises in the groups, still with the pinty scope that doesn't have ao adjustment.

I realized that I was dumb, and I got my digital calipers and associated gauge out and got proper measurements on the P-Rifle.
Barrel Shroud: 18.10mm
Air Tube: 32.28mm
Gap: 2.01mm by caliper, 1.96mm by gauge segments
Top of shroud to bottom of air tube*: 52.75mm

Just put order in for the new Pinty 22 cal pcp. Figured I'd see if anyone else here was guinea pigging them over here. Comes in 3 varieties, that have picked up some lovely nicknames. Here is a summary of what I've learned so far:
1) P-Force: Talon lookalike, single shot, pic rail, uses huben cricket externally adjustable regulator, ~120 shots on reg
2) P-Pup: bullpup, pic rail, wood stock, regulated, 9 shot mag, ~80 shots on reg at ~28 fpe
3) P-Rifle: Carbine, 11mm dovetail, wood stock, regulated, 10 shot mag, ~80 shots on reg at ~28 fpe
4) P-Force and P-Pup have moderator, P-Rifle can remove cap to install a moderator. All are threaded M14x1.
5) They are modified versions of snowpeak rifles, made in China. (Upgraded versions of M18, P35, AND M16 IIRC)
6) There are codes for $40 off on pinty website, ships from Cali. Can get rifle for around $250 after taxes.

I went with the P-Rifle version based on preference for that style. There is a lot of corrections/fixes for the P-Force out there, and it seems to be the most prone to issues but also most popular. I also went ahead and grabbed a pinty 3-in-1 scope to try out on it, just seemed appropriate.

Anyway, since this is my preferred chat area, figured I'd bring it up and start potential discussions here.
I just ordered the P-pup myself. Couldn't help myself, just seemed too good of a deal, and since I have 2 air force rifles. It seemed the P-Pup was my best choice.

I've contemplated the pup, but I'm just not a pup man. I don't know if they have corrected it yet, but there was a problem with the pic rail being only 19mm wide. So some rings wouldn't tighten to the rail.

Looking forward to hearing your assessments on the P-Pup, we are 2/3 of the guns now!
As soon as i get it, I will clean the barrel, pump her up and mount my scope. Put her through its paces and give a good report! And you can as Bill (avator), I can be full of questions. Cause I am not a tinkerer at all. But I promise you I won't pester to much with questions....hahahaha, who am I kidding. Well, I will try not to anyway.

Ask away, sometimes I might even know the answer! 😂
