Well I am heading out to Ashland Oregon tomorrow afternoon to shoot in my first Air Gun Competition, I am going into this with no major expeditions other than to have fun!
I have been testing and setting up both of my Ghost guns, one for pellets and one for slugs, at this point I am still not sure if I am going to shoot the the .30 cal. with slugs in the long range competition yet, I am bringing my .22 caliber slug barrel as well. I also packed the Sonoran as that has been shooting good as well!
I will try and do some posts during the competition. Looking forward to seeing Pesty and his wife. Onward to the wind city gun range in Ashland, Oregon

Good luck and good attitude! Enjoy yourself!

Most of all, relax & have fun! Keep your expectations modest, if for no other reason it's your first competition. Over the years, I've been able to go to "conventions" (small & large) for different hobbies, and it's nice just to be able to mingle and share stories, tips & tricks, etc. with like-minded people. For better or worse, it's also a chance to put faces on internet names.

My goal is to learn as much as I can so that I know how to practice for future events. As a competitive trap shooter, I know what it takes to get towards the top of the ladder, but air guns and bench shooting are a whole new game for me. Looking forward to getting back into the competition world again!
Good luck. Should be fun.

We made to the Ashland Gun Club this afternoon, after 5 hours of driving through winding roads through the mountains. First order was to get registered. I am on squad 1 in the first session and squad 3 for the 100 yard slug competition. Second was to get some practice in, @Pesty3782 came over to shot my Sonoran and after a couple shots we took the gun over the AoA van and he fixed the trigger! It really helped and it was shooting great! Going to start with that tomorrow 🤪 then I got the Ghost with the 28 in LW barrel and shot slugs at 100 yards and that was spot on. Felling pretty good going into the competition tomorrow as long as I can make good wind calls 🥺. Going get a good night sleep and go have fun tomorrow. Pics to come tomorrow. By the way the shoot sold out!

Well let me just start this out by saying the Wind absolutely kicked my butt today. I had 2 shots land on the target next to the one I was shooting 1 scored a 3 and the other was just out the scoring ring 🤣. Now on to the fun I did not shoot field target but did go and watch Tony aka @Pesty3782 and his better half Barbara, and Lauren P shot the field target, next year I will be shooting that. Tony shot very well with the Sonoran aka “Viper”

After FT there was a lunch break then the BR are started, I drew relay 1 out of the gate, so my wife and I were able to set up the wind flags early. My wife was a big help!! The shooting finally started and it took me a little bit to get some sort of idea what the wind was doing, we’ll try to figure out what it was going 🥺. After the dust settled my first 100 yard BR netted me a 150. After the 100 pellet only it was time for the 100 yard Slug shoot. I did better on that scoring 176 so that went much better. The Sonoran preformed very well today shooting 50,5 grain pellets. I shot the Ghost for the slug event. Here are pictures from today. Airguns of Oregon has put on a great shoot! The air gun world community is very welcoming to the new shooters. If you are thinking of trying out some competition shoots just do it. It’s fun and everyone is happy to have new shooters! I meet Jermery from HPP very nice guy!
