Now there’s a new Western Airguns Mordax Venom! It’s the latest version of this compact, selective-fire compact carbine that steps things up a notch with increased air supply and more.
The existing Mordax has been a huge hit with it’s combination of firepower, compactness, accuracy and quality. Capable of being fired in either semi- or fully-auromatic modes, it’s a dream machine for pest control or small game hunting in a target-rich environment.
The Venom adds to that with a “drop block” configuration, combined with a 300cc, 4,350 PSI carbon fiber HPA tank. This is a more than 3x increase compared to the 90cc HPA tube of the regular Mordax.
In addition, the Venom is equipped with dual side-mounted pressure gauges. One indicates the HPA bottle fill pressure, the other the regulated pressure. (The “tube version” Mordax has the HPA pressure gauge in the end of the tube).
Although compact, the Mordax and Mordax Venom are capable of being used with a fair-sized riflescope. The photographs here show it fitted with an (additional cost) Sightron S-TAC 3-16 x 42 scope which is 12.9 Inches long.
That extra-long top Picatinny rail provides plenty of real estate to enable a shooter’s required eye relief to be easily accommodated.
Compact open sights are also fitted, as can be seen in the photos.
As with the original Mordax, the Venom has a detachable, side-folding stock. Available calibers are .22. .25 and .30 cal.
But the Venom includes a compact 0dB airgun-only silencer that tames the bark of this little powerhouse.
The magazine is the same as is used in the regular Mordax and also the Western Airguns Sidewinder full-sized, selective-fire air rifle.
The Mordax Venom is available for pre-order at Airguns of Arizona. The price is $2,395.99.
Oh, and like all Western Airguns products, it’s made in the USA!
