This new Sightron S6 10-60×56 ED Field Target Scope has been announced for the 2024 SHOT Show. It’s being described as a premium choice for airgun, small caliber Field Target and Benchrest shooters.
“This is an incredible optic,” says John Long, National Sales Manager with Sightron. “The S6 10-60×56 ED FT sets a new optical standard for airgun and .22 competition shooting. The all-new 34mm tube design employs two Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) glass elements for an unprecedented shooting experience that provides a 55% improvement in optical resolution over our HAM Gold Award-winning and industry standard SIII FT models.”
At the core of the riflescope are 15 Japanese optical-grade glass lenses. The scope includes two Extra-low Dispersion elements that are precisely positioned within the objective to boost optical resolution by 55% when compared to the SIII model, Sightron tells HAM.
This means everything is clearer, crisper, and sharper edge-to-edge. Now, you’ll see those shots on target like never before and avoid hitting the same target twice, the company says.
Sightron redesigned the parallax cam system with 291º of precision field target rotation, plus an extra 39º of diopter and environmental condition protection, for a total 330º of parallax control. The scope is optimized for precise field target parallax adjustments ranging from 9-300 Yards and allows an additional 39º of adjustments to compensate for Diopter Correction and Environmental Changes (DCEC) which effect target-ranging accuracy. The result is 91º of parallax correction in the critical 40-60 Yard target range.
Sightron collaborated with Garima Design & Customization, in Italy, to develop a 145mm diameter magnetic side-wheel, specific to the S6 Field Target scope. The magnetic connection allows the wheel to attach or detach, in less than 1 second, without tools. That’s great for transporting your gun, or when you need to make a quick adjustment to your air rifle on the line.
Sightron’s exclusive Zact-7 Revcoat Plus multi-coating technology applies premium, camera-grade multi-coatings throughout the optical design. The company says that this offers the best possible light transmission, contrast, and clarity for dramatically reduced color fringing, flare, and chromatic aberrations even in the harshest lighting conditions.
The new MOA-2FT and MH-FT reticles are purpose-built for airgun and 22. caliber competition field target and benchrest shooters. The Second Focal Plane, illuminated reticle is uncluttered with just enough information to keep track of where you are when counting clicks. The floating center dot makes it easy to set target placement, even at 60x, Sightron says.
The 34mm tube design is built from premium-grade aluminum, weighs 33.6 Oz, and is airgun tested and shock-rated to 1,000G’s for more than 10k cycles. It can handle the heaviest big-bore airguns up to 50 BMG. In addition, it meets IPX7 waterproof standards and is nitrogen-charged to prevent fogging of the interior glass elements, even when moving from a warm car to sub-zero temps.
All Sightron riflescopes are backed by a Lifetime Performance Guarantee.
