There’s a new SIG 1911 Tacops CO2 BB pistol coming soon. At $119.99, the price is attractive and the blowback action will attract many pistoleros.
As with most other SIG airguns, the Tacops is intended to be an useful training tool. It has similar size, weight and erganomics to the powder-burning 1911 model. It can also make a great plinker to engage those feral soda cans around the yard!
Of course this new SIG airgun is powered by a single 12 Gram CO2 cartridge contained in the magazine. Said magazine also holds 17 BBs and is of drop-free configuration.
As can be sen from the photographs, the SIG 1911 Tacops CO2 BB pistol has a skeletonized trigger, a skeletonized hammer and a functional grip safety. Trigger pull weight specification is for a 4.25 Lbs pull.
Up-front there’s an accessory rail to mount a light or laser, if required.
The semi-automatic action is combined with a claimed maximum Muzzle Velocity of 300 FPS. There’s no claim for shot count, but testing at Hard Air Magazine has typically yielded around 50 shots from one CO2 cartridge with other SIG BB-firing replicas.
The Tacops has just been listed on the Pyramyd website. Shipments should be arriving soon, so this could be an ideal seasonal gift for the airgunner with an appropriate indoor range looking to practise during the Winter months.
The Tacops is the first new SIG airgun to appear for some time. So it may mean that my previous speculation about the company retreating from the airgun market was incorrect.
If it is similar to previous SIG BB pistols tested by HAM, the 1911 Tacops is likely to be an excellent BB gun.
