New HW97K Walnut Thumbhole Model Available

The new Weihrauch HW97K Walnut Thumbhole air rifle is now available.

Following the appearance of the HW97K with walnut sporter stock earlier this year, the famous German manufacturer has introduced this new model for thumbhole stock lovers.

This new model is in stock in the USA at Airguns of Arizona in .177, .20 and .22 calibers. The .25 cal version is scheduled for delivery soon, AoA tells us.

The oil-rubbed walnut stock certainly makes this classic air rifle even more irresistible, as the photographs included in this post show.

The fully ambidextrous walnut thumbhole stock features beautifully-grained wood and laser-cut checkering for a secure grip.

The raised cheekpiece is intended to align the shooter’s eye perfectly for use with a scope. This is an excellent practical way of reducing parallax error and boosting accuracy.

Note that open sights are not fitted to any version of the HW97. They’re all “scope-only” guns.

The underlever-cocking Weihrauch HW97 earned a HAM Gold Award when we tested it back in 2015. It’s also unusual in being available in calibers from .177 to .25. Including .20 caliber!

The new Weihrauch HW97K Walnut Thumbhole model makes the range even more extensive. All share the same basic spring/piston action, with underlever cocking and “Rekord” trigger.

Weihrauch enthusiasts will be delighted with this new model for sure. It’s also another great reason for HAM Community members to redeem their HAM Airgun Points for a 10% discount on this gun at AoA. (An early Christmas present for yourself, maybe?).

I like when they come out with stuff that distance me even more as a customer ..👍

I absolutely love my HW97K with it's beautiful walnut stock. My absolutely only disappointment with this fine rifle is that the Rekord trigger on mine has a plain steel surface rather than the advertised beautiful gold. I say advertised because the pictures up on the AoA web page clearly show the gold trigger. I suppose that I'm just bitchen here as AoA has treated me quite well. . . just a slight bit of righteous indignation here, I mean, who doesn't love those gold triggers? Orv.

Been brought up before elsewhere.

I could of sworn back when it was beeman had the gold triggers and hw had the nickel

You could tell what gun was used by just seeing trigger color. ( What do I know ) ?

Then dr. Beeman faded out or broke up as it kinda is today ( hw made or china made ) and that got blurred to I guess what's on hand when rolling down the assembly line. If hw runs short of nickel plated they just dip in to the Beeman gold . Why you see mixed gold or nickel on any hw .🥴

Now today I don't or yet to see a nickel trigger on a Beeman "R" series there still always gold .

Anyway that's the best math on that trigger color I have . If you do find something more solid post it ..
