How about putting in a softer tune kit? Less FPE over that many shots is a lot less battering on that pin.

Luckily it is pretty easy to take apart. The main tricky part is getting the safety and trigger back in correctly. I asked BB on his blog and he helped me get it right.

Not just yet. I ordered Sportsmatch Rings from AoA, but they were out of the ones I wanted until last Friday. They are now in and they have shipped. Should get them on the TX200 later this week. Then . . . ttime to get shooting. Orv.

The week before last we had. a new toilet installed. Great new throne. . . but the plumber found that we had some dry rot in the wooden sub-floor of the bathroom. Most of our home has ceramic tile floors. I purchased a couple of boxes of these tiles when this place was being build 16 years ago. Now to the point: the contractor will do the required work beginning a week from today. He says that the project will take a full work week to accomplish and that we'll have to move out for that time unless we want to pee in jars for the week. This doesn't bother me much but the wife won't go for it . . . go figure. So I booked a nice retreat for us in Mission Bay, San Diego. Wifes much happier now. Anyway, no shooting at all next week, unless I want to visit the fine grey-bar hotel. Again, wouldn't bother me, but the wife just says no. Oh well, when we get home to our newly floored bathroom I can shoot all I desire once again. I'm glad I don’t need any more airgun supplies, 'cause I'm gonna be broke after this. I fear that our little San Diego retreat will cost more than the bathroom re-do. Its only money, right? Oh well. . . Orv.

As much as I love my TX200, It broke again this afternoon. Well, not the rifle itself exactly, but the scope stop pin sheared off. I use Sportsmatch scope rings with the pre-installed stop pin (from AoA). This is the 2nd time in the 6 years I've been shooting my TX200 that its severed this pin. As I always do, prior to shooting, I tightened all the stock, trigger and scope fasteners. This time the scope moved back nearly half an inch before I caught it. This past winter I installed a Vortek PG4 full-power tune. The firing cycle is smooth and quiet, as expected. I have two other springers, a HW97K and a HW50S. What am I doing wrong? Should I be using another brand of scope rings? All my scopes are quality Hawke scopes, so I 'm not worried about them as they have lifetime warranties. So help here, friends . . . Orv.

No, you're not doing anything wrong, Doc. Just wear and tear. I use the same scope rings on my Diana 48 and 54 but don't shoot as much as you. Perhaps contact Sportsmatch and ask them if this is a common issue with that scope ring when the gun is shot a lot.
