Break Barrel Hw97, Is it just me?

Like I asked, Is it just me who wants a Picatinny rail machined into the receiver.
Being a new owner of an HW 97 has left me battling the woes of the dovetail receiver.
I did put a Picatinny converter onto my receiver with low rings and was able to manage mounting 34mm tubed scope.
As I was shopping for rings to fit my scope, I found myself frustrated with the limited dovetail 34 mm rings. No where I looked had a good option. I had no trouble finding Picatinny style rings in 34 mm. Even was able to purchase some locally. I have to ask myself why hasn’t a gun with this much recoil been retooled to have the Picatinny style rail.
I suppose in the past, it’s been fine. But now! The market has a limited availability of 1 inch tubed scopes that have the capabilities of handling the recoil of a springer these days.
The optic world has moved away from small tubes and dovetail rings.
I see an opportunity, A manufacture could begin manufacturing a one piece mount for a dovetail. That had 20 MOA of angle built into it and 34 mm tube sizing.
Or the best thing,
Put Picatinny on the receiver. No need for any MOA. There’s plenty of rings that offer many different types of adjustments. That will hold your zero, while not moving. Bag the pin! Throw out dovetail! Stop dreaded scope slide for everyone.
In the meantime, I live with it!

I don't dislike dovetail on classy low-mid power springers really (as long as there's a few holes in reciever), but the lack of MOA rail options drives me absolutely nuts! You buy your nice new springer and scope, & make an educated guess on what rings you need. Then you attempt to Zero it out to 30, 40, or even 50Y and the gun/scope is shooting 5+ inches low!!

On a pcp? Not so bad as there's no recoil, but the springer is gonna slap your new scopes internals silly, it stands the best chance starting out optically centered or close to it.
Why arent these Moa rails or mounts common? And no, adjustable mounts aren't always the answer... any decently powerful springer will loosen them up in a hurry.
I do think any magnum springer should come with picatinny though!

But....are they solid or adjustable? Love Sportsmatch...they are on all my dovetail guns

They are solid mounts. Adjustable doesn't work on a springer in my experience.

I 2nd Sportsmatch on springers. Built in recoil pin is designed for HW springers and RWS.

I understand Sportsmatch has rings and one piece mounts for dovetail receivers. But very limited with 34mm tubes!
I guess the point I’m trying to make here. How much more available rings and mounts would be if the guns had a picatinny rail. Instead of 4-5 options, a person could have 100’s of options.
Maybe a solution to this is they offer two models. Dovetail for us purest, who prefer the look of dovetails. A second with picatinny for us who are simplest, who want keep things easy.

Now I'm NOT mechanically-competent enough to add to this discussion, but hey it's Christmas so I'll give it a try

I GUESS that there's a manufacturing and/or cost issue with adding a Picatinny rail to the compression tube of a springer. A separate rail would likely need to be welded on and that could possibly distort the tube. Could it?

Some Chinese-manufactured springers do have Picatinny rails. These are usually a separate screw-on, or clamp-on mount like we see below. They look somewhat clunky to me but they do seem to work and could point the way forward.

Yes, I’m planning on using it at EBR in 50 yard springer event.

I'm a bit of a purist myself
Dovetail on my springers please, and 2 piece low or medium mounts only. Nothing else looks ok to me. Personally (blessed with good eye sight?) i have no need or want for 34mm and get by fine with my 1inch or 30mm scopes. Also way more options in those sizes, and....I REALLY don’t want 3 different sizes of rings in my collection.
