I’ve posted about some of the interactions that I’ve had with Barra Airguns over my defective .22 250Z. They told me it was defective like many of the .22 250z rifles. They offered me three options: wait for a new barrel, receive a new tested rifle or a full refund. I opted for the perceived quick remedy of a new rifle. They told me to let them know when I shipped the rifle, so that they could watch for it and get a rifle out to me. I got it to them two days later and notified them. After a week or so I hadn’t heard anything from them and so I asked for a status. They responded and said they would let me know when they ship it. They’ve had my return for almost two weeks and so I asked for the full refund. They told me no, they do not have any barrels or rifles to test or ship and when they receive some they will test one and ship it to me. I’m a little confused because their website indicates that the rifles are in stock, but the barrels are not. If they don’t have them and they offered me a refund, why can’t I get a refund? I have no idea what to believe from Barra at this point. Well I do: not much.

Sorry your having an issue with customer service. I would be besides myself as well. Hang in there brother!

You get what you pay for.
That’s a silly response: it’s a $500 air rifle. So expecting a rifle that works is reasonable. I could see that response if it was a $65 pump or $100 springer. But, even then I’d expect better customer service. Just because some air rifles cost $3000 to $5000, doesn’t mean that $500 is insignificant.

Im afraid mines going to give out now.
Mine had a bad barrel. It was leaving flakes of lead in the barrel. It was tight near the breeches, then loose and then tight again for the last 6-9 inches near the muzzle. Mine was also having issues with the valve staying open and degassing. I’m not sure the latter is much of a problem. I wanted to keep the rifle, I’m just fed up of being misled. When someone tells me they’re not finished with my replacement rifle yet, that implies they’re working on it, not waiting to source one.

Bill, you have had such bad luck with Barra that you really should quit them untill you hear mostly positive reviews. Even if you got a good one at this point it probably couldn't do enough to make up for all the blood.

Yeah, well mine started out with problems and through my own successful efforts I ended up with more than I ever thought I'd get. I have something worth way more to me than I originally paid for it. Some are getting good guns out of the box, now they are making out like bandits! Unfortunately, that's not Bill's case.

It’s all your fault. I was happy with how it shot pellets. Then I wanted to know why mine wasn’t doing as well as yours was with slugs. The odyssey began. LoL just kidding. But your performance with slugs and buying a bore scope were the catalyst. I wouldn’t tell anyone not to buy one, the rifle is very likable. I would just say that they know that a percentage of the .22 rifles that they’ve been selling are defective, as stated by them and be prepared for the runaround if you draw the short straw. I just thought: well they offered me a refund, maybe I should take that and apply it towards a Condor slug edition or something like that.

Don’t feel horrible I had a $3000 Edgun Leshiy 9mm that was garbage and the dealer in socal kept saying it’s user error. You’ve had one bad gun I’ve had dozens of lemons. This whole industry is full of overpriced garbage. Speaking from personal experiences.
I’m pretty sure, I remember reading about your Leshiy.

Not to mention that when the $500 rifle is made correctly and with a little tuning it will outshoot a lot of guns that cost waaaay more.

Im the same as you luckily. Mine was good out the box and with love became outstanding. With the plenum on it now it performs like a gun most people wouldn’t blink at paying $1000+ for.

Yes, your performance reports with slugs was also a catalyst lol. My power numbers were slightly better than Pumacarl’s out of the box. I mentioned several times that pellet accuracy at 50yds was pretty much on par with my Ghost. That’s impressive when you consider that a new Ghost costs 4-5 times the price of a new Barra 250z. There is a footnote to that comparison: At a range of 50yds or less with the right pellet, almost every PCP air rifle is very accurate.
