More Kral PCP Air Rifles Coming To Airgun Depot

More Kral PCP air rifles are coming to the US at Airgun Depot in the near future. In addition to the Mortal and Empire models announced in Hard Air Magazine recently, there’s two more: the Kral Bighorn and Kral Jumbo Dazzle. (Where do they get these names?).

But seriously folks, before going further I have two basic questions about Kral PCP air rifles…

1. Why do they give all of them the name “Puncher”?

For example, the full official product name of the Bighorn is actually the “Kral Puncher Bighorn”. The other is the “Kral Puncher Jumbo Dazzle”. It seems to me that the whole “Puncher” thing is somewhat superfluous as it’s applied to so many models. Does anyone have an explanation?

2. So far as I can tell, no Kral PCP air rifle is offered with a built-in factory regulator. Why not?

Personally, I’m a big believer in regulated PCPs and can’t readily understand why an unregulated gun – outside of big bore – would be a good thing. Again, can anyone help me out here with an explanation and tell me what I’m missing?

OK, so above we see the Bighorn. It’s available in calibers from .22 up to .357. Muzzle Energy specs peak at 59 Ft/Lbs in .22 cal and 68 Ft/Lbs in .25 cal. In .30 cal it’s 81 Ft/Lbs and power peaks at 141 Ft/Lbs in .357 cal.

There’s a 500 cc HPA bottle that fills to 3,625 PSI (250 bar) and Kral claims up to 60 shots per fill in .22 caliber, with up to 50 shots per fill in all the other calibers. That certainly would be a remarkable achievement – particularly in .357 caliber!

There’s a beautiful Turkish walnut stock and multi-adjustable buttpad. The price is $849.99.

Moving on to the Jumbo Dazzle, this is also has a sidelever action, rotary magazine and shrouded barrel. However these features are combined with a synthetic, foldable tactical-style stock.

Available in .22 and .25 calibers, the Jumbo Dazzle offers a huge number of shots per fill, again from a 500cc, 3625 PSI HPA bottle.

Airgun Depot specs list up to 300 shots per fill in .22 caliber with a maximum Muzzle Energy of 32 ft/lbs. The figures for .25 cal are 250 shots with a peak power of 38 Ft/lbs.

Again that would be very strong performance, but with a different balance of shot count/power from the Bighorn.

The price is $749.99.

Whatcha shooting there? Oh you know, the “Kral Puncher Big Horn Super Duper Expresso with Chai and Twice Fluffed Almond Soy Milk Edition Mk II”….. . All jokes aside, I do like the looks of that walnut stock. For me, I think that the price point could maybe include a CF bottle. As for the regulator, I’d imagine Huma or Huben will make a retrofit piece available for them. Even the black tacticool rifle has a nice look to it from my standpoint.

Had someone ask me about the Kral Puncher Jumbo Dazzle recently, I didn't realize it was a separate rifle until this article. The bighorn would be this Papa's preference, maybe in 357 if that shot count is real.

As for why unregulated, simplicity is the simple and quick answer. Case and point the 3622, less parts, less failure points.

It's priced high enough the regulator should come on the rifle! I'm not giving 900 to a 1000 dollars total with regulator bought for these rifles. I'll take a pass.

That Dazzle looks a lot like a Blackwolf but no comparison to its price.

Yeah they seem to copy alot of the design looks from the big brands quite often ive noticed.

Noticed that too, saw the title and the top picture and thought man those should be named the otherway around....kept reading....aha! Yeah no reg = no interest for me unless maybe an AF Condor. I'd imagine the "up to 50 shots in the other calibers" speaks to the .25? The .357 makes some decent power though!
