Kral Empire Bullpup PCPs

Kral Empire bullpup PCPs are coming to the USA as well! In a sign of the times, Turkish air rifles are making a new push into the US market – as Hard Air Magazine has already reported.

The Kral Empire series consists of two basic models. Both are bullpups. There’s the full-length Empire X and the compact Empire XS.

I have to say that – on a personal level – I really like these stubby, ultra-compact bullpups like the Empire XS!

Sure, the shorter barrel leads to lower FPS and the lesser HPA capacity provides a lower shot count. But the overall looks, compact handling characteristics and “shootability” really appeal to me.

Kral manufactures the Empire models in a choice of synthetic and wood stocks. The guns coming to the USA are all – to my knowledge – fitted with Turkish Walnut stocks.

That’s fine by me as the “real tree wood” looks really good. It also provides a pleasant change from the proliferation of “black gun” PCPs that are so common nowadays.

As you would expect, the Kral Empire bullpup PCPs have mid-mounted sidelever cocking. Kral documentation states that they have Kral-manufactured choked, rifled barrels. So this likely means that they are pellet-shooters, rather than slug guns.

There’s a built-in Picatinny rail for scope mounting, together with an adjustable buttpad.

The barrel is shrouded. In addition, the muzzle is threaded 1/2-Inch UNF for the addition of airgun-only silencers where legal. There is no mention of a factory-fitted regulator. Aftermarket regulators are available, however.

Both Kral Empire bullpup PCP models are coming to the USA in .22 and .25 calibers. The HPA fill pressure is a hand pump-friendly 2,900 PSI.

We’ve gathered many of the product specifications into this table for easy reference.

The wood stocks are good looking for sure. I really like the compact model. In comparison to other .22s and .25s a bit anemic on the amount of energy produced. However, they look like they would be decent entry-level pellet-shooting PCPs. Not sure about Kral QC.

To be honest, it doesn't seem that weak , sure its not a power hungry shooter but I could see that empire XS laying waste inside barns , ware houses on birds. Built for a specific task most certainly. I never was much of a power hunt guy, in fact I've always DETUNED my rifles from the factory for more precision.

I wonder what the noise report is like on that little xs without moderator.

Post #7 in the thread below makes the compact Kral Empire XS .25 a more interesting compact hunting rifle. Troy is the only person I really see consistently working on and modding Kral air guns.

It must be very loud with that short barrel and no mod. Cool looking gun!
