My pal went to an auction and ended up with three airguns, a Cometa Lynx in .22, a Streamline in .25 and a Avenger in .177. The Avenger had a moderator on it that looked like a 3D printed coffee can, and a trigger that was 10# of creepy trash. Well, turned out the moderator worked like magic, but the trigger was a big NO for me. I tore the gun down, and looked at the trigger, and removed all the screws and spring and threw them away. I then added three new screws in different holes drilled in the trigger, tuned it with a lighter spring to a true two stage trigger of about 9 ounces and it is saaaweeeet!
The big surprise is, this thing shoots all out of proportion to it's price! It is as accurate as any airgun I've ever had or shot, and with almost anything. I was truly impressed, the gun is a $300 gem!

Yes! They are stupid accurate. My brother's .25, using slugs, first group at 100y was 1.25" and then he did just slightly better with MkII pellets (still didn't make sub-moa). This is why it didn't surprise me when, the later model, an Avenge X, won a competition. That cheap plastic stock though.... I like good polymer, but that stock isn't that. I guess they had to cut all the corners they could to keep it cheap. The important thing is that they left in the accuracy.

It's the gun I recommend to people curious about pcps but aren't 100% decided! Nice work on the trigger, even the expensive fancy triggers can often benefit from some work, any idea how heavy it was before doing the work?

Glad to hear that! Hope your friend enjoys his new Avenger, sounds like the two of you will be shooting it often! 😜

I must say, the magazines are hit or miss for us. One worked with just a tiny bit of tweaking it, and the other was problematic no matter what I've done to it. It is somewhat thicker than the other, so I had to sand it down a good bit to get it to fit in the action. I had thought about setting the barrel out a tad, but then the other mag would have been sloppy, and I can always get another mag. They're better than Notos mags by a wide margin, and it's possible this one is a lemon, but something to be aware of. Plenty of aftermarket mags available for sure.

I have a avenger and I got to say it's probably the best buy out there. Super accurate, high round count per fill, price point below 400 bucks for a wood stocked gun, regulated shots. Mine was a tack driver right out of the box. Can't praise them enough.

Someone mentioned the plastic stock. It is a cheaper stock, but not bad. Funny thing is, it's a different design, but it's strangely comfortable. It's the strangest 3 piece design I've ever seen, but it works. The Avenger is just an all around interesting gun. I have to say again, I'm impressed with it. No fliers, just super accuracy. The thing sells for something like $350, is regulated, which is externally adjustable, has good power, I dunno, it's just really cool. I'll put it across the crony for a full string later and see how it goes.

I just received my Avenger last week by ups. I got mine in .25, to take care of trash pandas, fox, and the ever present Wiley Coyote that like to try making raids on my chicken coop. this is my 3rd pcp, after my arrow, and arrow classics in .22, that just lacked the power to knock these critters down. I got mine with the Pro tune, 47 ft.lbs energy. This should work, right?

That's my hopes. A Coyote will spin and run, even with a vital shot, heart, lung. Foxes will just run, or drop. But trash pandas, without a brain shot, will turn and attack from time to time. The 25 grain pellets make me feel a lot more confident than an 18 grain 22, along with the 47 ft lbs of energy, to punch through skulls.

I personally prefer a 25.39gr .22 @ 975fps😅..... Same weight, smaller diameter, faster. Got one coon and it was a head shot 4 sure just dropped instantly. 47Fpe is not bad though, about the max that the .25 Avenger makes? Welcome to HAM btw!

Danmark, no, it can go a good bit higher. I purchased the pro tune option with mine, for a happy medium, still 40 odd shots at 47 ft lbs energy. The high performance one cuts that shot number down to 16 or 17 shots between refills, but the ft lbs are way above my rifles 47. If I wanted to hunt hogs, maybe, but I got powder burners for the big critters

Pumacarl, that cheap tangy plastic stock can be easily kinda sorta "fixed" easily enough. Remove the butpad, stuff it full of shop rags. Or if your feeling adventurous, use the expanding spray foam from a can. The Crack sealing stuff. Completely changes the way the avenger stock feels, and cuts out the Mattel type sounds that come from it. I had to live with a toy feeling and sounding buttock for long enough. Can't stand it either. Anyway. Is how I fixed mine. 😌

I did not mention it, but he did put weight and foam in his stock too. He doesn't walk around with it, he is strictly a shoot the pest kind of guy, doesn't go out hunting so weight doesn't matter. There were many threads written about how people were making that stock quieter and better balanced when the Avenger first came out. Some people went kinda crazy, good reading!

Yeah, I have a .177 avenger that I made a bottle gun, added a plenum and filled the stock with the expanding foam. It looks a little bit weird, but it's a tack driver with the polymags, and I get so many shots out of it that I usually get tired of shooting before I run out of air.
