I shot my chrony by accident. ( top right ) Not once, but twice. Did not know till I realized it was no longer working. I included a pic of what the internals look like.

aside from the pellet hole do you see any damage to the electronics ( circit board, screen )?
loose wire?
i cant tell much from the pics.

They offer a lexan / clear plastic impact face guard thing for them ..

Yes. both light sensors are ate up.

Oooufff that is super unfortunate. I just bought the pro chrono DLX this summer and have been terrified of doing this myself!! Can I ask how you took it apart? I love mine but it is waaayy to light. I want to add some heft to it so it won't blow over from any wind and I thought to take it apart and add some weight inside. Lastly does anyone here use the add on lights? Gonna have to start shooting indoors soon and even outside once sun is setting she refuses to read anything. Thanks!

Have you tried making any sunshades for it , thin cardboard or bed sheet canopy/ sides, ect? Heck, use a large enough cardboard box to fit it inside ..

I switched to the FX pocket chrony for convenience a few years back and it always works. That and I don't have to worry about shooting it (which I've almost done more times than I can count! lol!

I think it more that it's to dark out not bright enough to read? It came with the sunshades which I like but make it even more prone to flying away in the wind.

I had a similar experience several years ago when checking the velocities produced by a few Chinese knock-offs of the old Gamo 440 break barrels. I got lucky and the pellet just nicked the steel between the rear screen rods-Chrony still works to this day!

I did that to my first caldwell!! no shame in admitting it , was just a mistake.

I think it more that it's to dark out not bright enough to read? It came with the sunshades which I like but make it even more prone to flying away in the wind.

There's a few dyi tricks to look at wether lighting needed or sunshade. I used cardboard roof and sides depending on how the sun was. Whatever trick to maintain normal no error operation..lol

Making a impact guard is a first task item to make .. once shot and damaged hindsight don't fix ...

No screws held it together. The top and bottom simply snap together. Use a screwdriver and pry apart. If a tab breaks you can glue it back or use tight rubberbands to hold the 2 halfs together. Melt some lead and you can place it inside for weight.

I did too. I was so disappointed in it, that I let it have it with the .357 magnum. The only time I ever felt good about that waste of money. I never spent another minute fiddling with it.

Ain't there a threaded thing on the bottom for stand mounting ? Drill a hole in a 2x6 and bolt it on using it ..

Or weigh up the tripod/ stand it's mounted to .. heck if it's that windy to blow it over to start shooting pellets probly tricky for one to get pushed in to it to start ..

I’d never seen this before. Hmmmm. “not intended to protect chronograph against projectiles” So this is good for what exactly?
Anyone have one? If you have one, have you shot the debris shield?

That is funny .. I guess it's like there little disclaimer to avoid liability..

Well kinda meant it as a example to get the better lexan in a thickness that is rated impact resistant " bullet proof" grade . Looks cheap enough for a little piece of mind in case a oops ..

I just shoot for " at the muzzle" results anyway. If I hit mine at that I need to just put the guns down and give up shooting ..lol
