Others I discovered a new shooting lane in my backyard today.

Working in the yard today I discovered an entirely new shooting lane. Normally I shoot out the side garage door to the corner of the back fence. (50yds) angling slightly right to left. The lot contour is such that it drops 4-5 ft at 40 yds inclines upward about 3 feet to the back fence, a very safe situation. This new lane, same distance, angles slightly left to right and the lines cross at the low spot. So, I can now set up a new shooting lane with different targets out to 50 yds. The 50 yd targets will be about 10 yds laterally apart. You may want to expand the photo to get a better idea. Plus, I get to sit outside in the shade to shoot.

My issue is that I have a big back yard, but there's a private drive bordering on the back, and about 4 households use it (plus the package deliveries, plus the landscapers, etc.). I may have to build an earthen berm along the back and plant some evergreens to be able to shoot without a spotter to monitor for traffic.

Before we got old and moved into this subdivision we lived in what was considered rural on 7 acres with no close neighbors plus a power line that bordered the back. I had a shooting range for rimfire and shotguns. I was also field trialing bird dogs back then and I would regularly work them on quail and pigeons. And as you know nothing stays the same forever. The dogs died and we were aging so we sold and moved into this neighborhood. At first I didn’t like it but a friend on my Trap squad is into air rifles and me sold his TX200. He has a backyard range and suggested I could do the same. I have taken it from there. I don’t say much about it to my neighbors because I am a little leery of the HOA. No problem so far but I don’t really trust them.
