It's great that AOA & Kalibrgun stand behind it... but it's a long way from FL to AZ. Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya?

You're clearly capable of replacing it yourself- if the cost isn't exorbitant & there's no reason to suspect other, still hidden issues, that's what I would do too.

Going to email Shane about the cost of a replacement plenum tube. Feel lucky?? no, more than likely I’d get punked lol.

I don’t suspect any other issues, the best way I can describe the overall function of the rifle is that it needed considerable break in. Thousands of rounds and then readjustments to the action, magazine indexing has been a bit of a pita.

That’s what he did in the past with my Wolverine but for whatever reasons the email is requesting that I return the entire rifle for “inspection”.

Well, at least he answers your emails. Hopefully they stock the tube.

@wolfmangreg I was just thinking about the Wolverine’s issue and I remember that it could have been handled differently because I purchased it used. It was under the 30 day limited warranty.

My BSA Super Meteor also had to be sent back for factory warranty.

I sent an email 6/22 asking if they had any ideas on what else I should look at on the Sonoran, in reference to it blowing out the probe o-ring. I told them everything that I had done.

“That is very odd. The only thing we can think of is that the cocking linkage pins are worn and the probe is not fully seating into the barrel. With no pellet or magazine and the bolt fully closed, is there any back and forth play in the probe? Short of that, perhaps trying a harder material like a viton 75 or Buna 90 in that size o-ring would help. Other than that, we are at a loss.”

I agree with that somewhat. I think the probe has slipped, but is not loose. It’s a pain, because you have to fully disassemble the trigger assembly to get to the probe. I immediately sent them a response that I had disassembled it most of the way. I asked them to verify the correct o-ring size as it’s a custom change to the Sonoran for the .30 Sub-MOA and not covered in the BRK Sniper manual. I never heard back. So the Sonoran will sit there until, the FX and Ghost breaks if the cocking linkage has already worn out in 13 months, that’s sad and I’m not about to send it back for that.

I’m not sure. When I’m feeling energetic, I’ll pull it apart. I’m pretty sure it’s out of alignment by a hair. It blows part of the o-ring out of the breech, with a large blast of air lol.

I’m starting to wonder if I’m going to have to go to a different vendor to be able to get a replacement plenum tube.

I emailed AOA asking for the cost of a replacement tube before I sent it in under warranty on 7/8 and made a follow up phone call leaving a detailed message on 7/15. I’ve had no response from them.

There must be a waiting list at AOA for emails. I simply asked if I was using the right sized o-ring for the Sonoran pellet probe. I had to ask them as it’s custom to the Sonoran.30. That was in response to them telling basically that they were baffled as to why it might be blasting air out the chamber. Hopefully they will respond to you soon. You’re very patient. If that’s you’re cricket your talking about, I’d have reached the point of boxing it up and letting them remedy it. Miss your posts - get back to posting

Might want to check with @zx10wall - he sells & services Kalibrgun.

Worth trying Kalibrgun direct too. Have generally found the Czech OEMs agreeable about things like this.

I received a trade in offer, minus shipping - $575 plus having purchased the Huma regulator .

Nope can’t do it… boxed it up to be repaired, still had to pay for shipping.

Learned a hard lesson with this one, PasadenaMike was right about brand new Airguns, if it’s a quick easy fix, then sure (unless it’s a tier 1, not that I would ever spend that kind of money lol). If not, RMA for refund and move on.

I'm happy to have not had the problem and not have to make that kind of decision. If I had really liked the gun, and had no other gun that I thought that I would like as much, then I would have stuck with it, all things being equal. The parts problem definately throw off the equation though, and will probably be a problem again, so, good call.
