Break Barrel HW 97 mainspring

A question for you HW 97 owners, is the mainspring the same between .177, .20, and .22 calibers? I would like to get a spare spring to have just in case.

Just gonna throw this out there....Air Arms and Diana?....Same main spring as well regardless of caliber you have. If you change power levels (ie 495fps vs sub12 vs H.P.) then the spring is often different. Usually the only difference caliber to caliber is the barrel, the power plant remains the same in all the guns I've ever researched, but there's probably that one springer out there that's different

The spare ones are either 12 foot pound or full power.

The only difference in the springs is that the 12 fps springs have one plus coils cut off the OEM springs. I've been told that each coil represents approximately one and one half foot power. Non OEM springs are going to be slightly different. Temperature and lubrication also affect fps. Who manufactures the spring will also have effect. If you do trim the coils on your gun, be sure to polish the end of your coils. The HW77 also uses this same spring. I highly recommend Vortek tunes and springs.
