EdGun.shop had the complete assembly for $387. That’s the only way I could find it. I decided to go ahead while I could still get it somewhere.Glad you found one I looked and it looked like it wasn’t available
Yeah, I knew I was taking a gamble on this particular one. You could see in the pictures AOA posted that it had definitely been well used. They didn’t try to hide it. They also tested it, sent me their shot readings, and it was holding air when I received it. But with it having all the barrels, I decided to take a chance knowing I’d probably have a few odds and ends to do. The o-rings needing to be replaced probably should have been the only thing to get it going. But the brass cup in the forward plug bugged the mess out of me. I hate when screws are messed up from a screwdriver. Maybe an electrician thing. I dunno. So, I wanted it replaced. And it went down from there.Interesting problem. Sorry to hear about it. I saw those leshiy on aoa. I would be reluctant to purchase second hand from them after hearing this.
Yeah, I’m hoping once I get it squared, I’ll just be replacing O-rings in the future. We shall see.Ok now I’ll say it. One of the reasons I sold my classic is because of parts starting to dry up and needless to say pricey as F
That would be fantastic. As of now, I have no plans other than keep it for spare parts. What are you going to do with the bad section?
I have a large bridgeport mill that I could use to get that plug out. Then maybe able to get the rest of the plug out. That way you would have a spare unit if needed.
Well, my AF EscapeSS only leaks like 80-100psi a day. So I’ve had some very slow leaks in the past. You would know if it’s leaking pretty quick
Nothing a little soapy water won’t find. That sounds like the fill valve o ringWell, my AF EscapeSS only leaks like 80-100psi a day. So I’ve had some very slow leaks in the past.
Yeah, I need to take the time and try to find it one day.Nothing a little soapy water won’t find. That sounds like the fill valve o ring
Wow, really bent that hardened screwdriver bit!View attachment 14053View attachment 14054Update…..
I had a great idea! I disassembled the tube and separated the front plug assembly. Sprayed penetrating lubricant on the brass fitting and allowed it time to soak in…. Then, I took a very small drill bit and drilled in on either side of the center hole for the valve. This made a new, deeper slot I could get a better grip in. I put a brand new flathead bit in my Milwaukee impact and then!!!!!!!!
I proceeded to use the impact to no avail and only bent the new bit…..
To say I’m frustrated is an understatement.
