Does anyone else love their gk1? I know I do!

I was posting to see I'd there is anyone else interested in building a rifle version of the gk1/k1?

I bought the k1 when I was waiting on my gk1 and I didn't care for my cheek being on top of the mag but it was a nice pcp. I see these sidewinders, rattlers, k1s, are all pups with right handed shooters in mind. I like the idea of having a rifle version so the action is in front on my face instead of on it, maybe even a fancy wood stock like the paradigm and a chassis version for the other crowd. Hopefully it will have an ambidextrous saftey .

Is there anyone else out there that would like to see something similar? Or is this too close to the leishy 2 for much interest?

Any additional ideas for the rifle build from the other forum members here?

P.s. if anyone is on the edge about getting a gk1, I strongly suggest you go over to Kelly's site and buy 1. She's a keeper for sure and Kelly has excellent customer service and is very responsive to questions.

Looks interesting. I’m a Leshiy 2 fanatic but these have always intrigued me

I think this would be a similar rifle to the leshiy 2 but with more power, better trigger, larger mag capacity, more tunable, and more stock options since the air tube in the front.

Agreed !! I just don’t like the non removable magazine it’s a deal breaker. I need my gun to be absolutely stupid proof once stored or in transit. L2 folded is as safe as it gets

I agree, the non removable mag is a downside and a deal breaker for some. I don't mind the fixed mag because I can load 3 pellets at a time and I rarely see 18 shots when I'm in a hunting situation. The only downside for me to the non removable mag is transporting. I'm not worried about it going off or being unsafe, but the law requires you to transport hunting rifles empty if I remember correctly. You would have to manually empty the mag before loading up in the car, which is a hassle, but a worthy trade off for all the other positives that come with it.

Yeah other than that the Hubens are awesome. Way less $$ than Edguns. Oh the 5000 psi fill is kind of a negative too.

Yea, that pressure of 5000 psi will destroy a cheaper chinese compressor in no time. The new AEA compressors will do it easily but are a little pricey.

I've got a few friends that have several of them, fantastic shooting little pistols and make tremendous power. I have reached out to a few distributors asking if they would be interested in a trade for some promotional work with zero luck. I've been looking for a serious hunting pistol and this would probably fit the bill other than possibly an Evanix ar6. Currently I have a Sidewinder mini with a removable magazine...my thoughts are I can deal with a fixed mag no problem. On most hunts I'm lucky if I go through one mag, either that or I miss a lot. Lol I can see someone like Terry over at Buck Rail being able to create a tactical type chassis, a solid wood stock would be cool. I picture something like what Woods and Water Outdoors did with the Crosman MK1 LD

I like the Huben platforms in the K1 and GK1. I used to want to see them offer a larger caliber, but Western beat them to that. as for a GK1 rifle, I don't know if I'd like it. I like the pistol and may try a shorty once I get used to the regular GK1. I like it just how it is. A Huben carbine might be interesting (a GK1 with a barrel longer than the pistol, but shorter than the rifle with a folding/removable buttstock). A removable mag is also desirable, but not a deal breaker for me. I have rarely ran through a magazine of pellets on a hunt. This is an excellent hunting platform in my opinion. One change I'd like to see implemented for a carbine version is adding a safety near the trigger. The current safety in the rear of the action is inconvenient and counterintuitive for me if not used in pistol configuration and on the K1 platform.

I'm working with Metal Mountain Products to build a chassis, so any input should be added here. Hopefully it turns out good!

@MountainSportAirguns if you guys have any input on the chassis please feel free to post it here or contact metal mountain products and talk to them directly about it. I basically approached them with the desire to have a chassis built and he was totally on board. He has a gk1 in his possession and is currently working on 1st drafts.

You read my friggen mind lol I love the hubens and own a GK1 & K1 25 caliber. I would love to see a l9ng rifle with wider mags to accommodate longer slugs. Also more standard calibers vs .223 & .254 for a wider selection of ammo.
