If Huben GK1 and K1 had a baby — it would be nothing short of amazing!!
I really hope Huben will foster the procreation of such a wonderful creature....
Both their K1 and GK1 are great, as they develop power like few others (GK1 like NO other).
Both are semi-auto, a feature I have started to appreciate this past year.
But I'm still pining for a middle ground between K1 and GK1:
Something that goes between
⭓12.8" (32.5cm) OAL
and
⭓32.7" (83cm) OAL....
K1:
For big power in a rifle format, the K1 is fine.
But for my applications, it's way too long:
32.7" (83cm) OAL
⭓ The GK1 was made to be a handgun that
▪︎looks like a pistol, and
▪︎can be shot like a pistol.
Few could pull this off. Huben did.
GK1:
But the handgun format demands sacrifices to be made:
⭓Quietness = none
The GK1 has no active shroud, and on a pistol design it would be too small anyhow to make it a lot quieter.
⭓Shotcount = low
⭓Regulator = none
⭓Easy to shoot without support = of course not, it has not buttstock
⮕
I'd love to see Huben finding a middle ground between K1 and GK1:
⭓ Combining the efficient high power internal design of the GK1
with
⭓ the bullpup design of the K1.
This would allow for:
➊ more air/ more shots
➋ a regulator(!)
➌ a large shroud as to not requiring a silencer — which nullifies the purpose of a short gun (short not just for transport, but for shooting it).
➍ deleting the folding stock that everybody seems to be mounting on the GK1 — to achieve the precision that Huben guns are capable of (to state it again: I want short not just for transport, but for shooting).
I am dreaming of a 𝗞𝗦𝟭 [S = Short]:
not 12.8" (32.5cm) GK1 OAL
not 32.7" (83cm) K1 OAL
but
20" (51cm) 𝗞𝗦𝟭 OAL
The world's shortest regulated PCP rifle with 30FPE.
And semi-automatic as a bonus.
The only competition — with the technology from a decade ago, a single shot loader:
20.4" (51.8 cm): EDgun Lelya 1
The rest, far off midfield:
▪︎ 23.5" (59.65 cm): EDgun Lelya 2.0
▪︎ 23.6" (60.0cm): Taipan Veteran 1 Compact
▪︎ 23.8" (60.5 cm): Ataman BP17 Micro
▪︎ 24.0" (61.0 cm): AirMaks Krait S
▪︎ 24.4" (62.0 cm): AGT Uragan Compact
▪︎ 24.4" (62.0 cm): KalibrGun Cricket Compact
▪︎ 24.8" (63.0cm): Steyr Pro X Scout ⍟ Semi-automatic — but no shroud
▪︎ 25.5" (64.8cm) — and folded, non-shootable 13.5" (34.3cm): EDgun Leshiy 2 Short ⍟ Semi-automatic — with shroud
Dream with me — of the Huben 𝗞𝗦𝟭!
