Yesterday I received my second air rifle suppressor from Heartland Airguns. I was so pleased with my first (WhisperLite Mini-Mod) Heartland air rifle suppressor I decided to give another model a go on my Uragan 2 700 air rifle. I purchased the Heartland WhisperGL model for my U2.

The AGT Uragan series of air rifles have a large shroud (38mm) with a very substantial built-in baffle unit. The factory baffles do a pretty good job of suppressing most of the 'bark' from the Uragan(s). However, there is still enough report that the air rifle is not what most folks would consider, 'back yard friendly'. So, I decided to try the WhisperGL "The Prototype" unit on my Uragan 2 700 .25 caliber.

There is always three concerns when adding a suppressor to any air rifle. First, does the suppressor quiet the report of the air rifle? Second, does the suppressor change the accuracy of the air rifle? Third concern, does the suppressor change the point-of-impact of the air rifle? I'm pleased to report that the Heartland WhisperGL was successful with lowering decibels, and maintaining (or improving) the accuracy of my Uragan 2. However, My U2 did experience a POI change with the Heartland installed. Not really a concern as I can dial up my optic. And, POI change was actually expected as with most all suppressors..., POI changes at least a small amount on all air rifles.

I have to say that adding the WhisperGL suppressor did not change the report from the Uragan 2 very much. The U2 factory baffles work well enough that adding a suppressor to the U2 rifle(s) does not change the heard report of the air rifle any where near as much as adding a suppressor to an air rifle that has no built-in suppression. In short..., don't expect a large decrease in sound using the WhisperGL unit on a Uragan series rifle verses just using the Uragan(s) factory baffles.

The Heartland WhisperGL "The Prototype" is a nice fit on the large shroud of the Uragan 2/3 rifles!

Adding the WhisperGL did change the POI on my U2 700 .25 by 3/4" at 50yds.

Only took 7-clicks to get my 50yd zero back. More importantly, the accuracy was at least as good, if not better, with the Heartland!

Nice write up! I think it really shines taking the whole blast of air on its own with direct threading. I can't believe how well it works for that. As a secondary unit to a good shroud system I think that I would look for something much lighter. It is kind of heavy. The size does look good on your gun, that's always a plus!

Even though the new WhisperGL didn't turn my U2 into a totally quiet rifle, it is quieter. Plus, the Heartland matches the rifle's carbon stock perfectly so it looks great!

I have the 22/25 Prototype and it is the quietest moderator I have . I thought the Donny Sumo & Shogun would be hard to beat , but it did beat them!!
