Hard Air Magazine Is Your AI-Free Airgun Information Source

Hard Air Magazine is your AI-free airgun information source. Yes, we’re 100% AI-free, there’s no Artificial Intelligence here!

From Hard Air Magazine’s start in April 2014, every word that has been published in HAM has been written and edited by real human beings – not AI. The photographs we take are all real, too, Photoshopped” as necessary and formatted manually to correctly and appropriately illustrate the stories.

The airgun test data, measurements, targets and shooting opinions we publish all were generated by humans, too. Including our world-leading Ballistic Coefficients database.

And although this is Hard Air Magazine, not the “Stephen Archer Airgun Blog”, I have been – and continue to be – responsible for writing the overwhelming majority of the content published here. Yes, that includes the occasional spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and other booboos!

Even where I am not the author, I edit all material for publication in HAM. It’s not done by Artificial Intelligence. (OK, so occasionally my wife wonders if there was any intelligence at all, but that’s a different story!).

So why write this now?

Well, the influence of AI is ever-more pervasive wherever we look. It’s particularly evident to me in YouTube videos, where a significant proportion of new content uses AI; increasingly for the complete production. Sometimes one wonders if a real human being was ever involved at all in creating the video…

Of course, Hard Air Magazine concentrates on news and reviews of airguns and airgun-related topics. This is material that AI cannot – yet – generate itself. Although some of us may live to see robots testing, analyzing and giving their opinions on the latest air rifles in the frighteningly near future, I certainly don’t want to be around to see it!

So that’s why I’ve nailed our colors to the mast and included a logo on every page of Hard Air Magazine confirming that this stuff – “Warts and All” as Oliver Cromwell famously said – is NOT produced by Artificial Intelligence.

I’ll say it again so that the Google AI-based search software gets the message loud and clear. Hard Air Magazine is your AI-free airgun information source. It’s all human-created airgun content!

For better or worse that’s the way it has been and the way it will continue to be while I’m the Publisher of Hard Air Magazine. You have my real, human word on that!

@MartinT Thanks for your kind words :D
It's so true with AI & Google, Owning a business , customers would even refer to AI for the promlem on the vehicle was such & such according to AI or Google for that matter. I have to listen to them , & reply ( If what you are telling myself is that you know the problem & that will correct the issue, & if it doesn't are you still going to pay me if your WRONG)

I appreciate this. Over the years it has become obvious that the quality of something usually directly correlates to the amount of effort applied. It ok to ask questions, but usually they have been asked and answered before. A bit of effort goes a long way. I say this because of the information presented here took effort to produce, and in respect for that effort a bit of research is in order. I very much enjoy this group, and it is a direct reflection of the effort applied.

I will say AI is not bad if used correctly. I do like that you write everything yourself. The fact people are just using AI to make nothing based content is aweful! I use AI in my development workflows and it can be helpful as a baseline. I also don’t use it when I can write something just as fast. Often it is doing the stuff I hate to do. I also use it for photo editing. Works great there.

Keep up the great work! If you decide to add AI to the workflow, proofread everything! It gets it wrong a lot.
