In this Hatsan Blitz safety recall update we have some additional information to the initial announcement posted in Hard Air Magazine a few days ago. This applies to both the Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 models.
For anyone reading this for the first time, there’s a safety recall in place for Hatsan Blitz and Blitz 777 air rifles. If you own one, you are advised to stop using it immediately. The recall states that these air rifles can fire unexpectedly when releasing the bolt before the air rifle is fully cocked, posing a risk of serious injury or death from projectile hazard.
The resolution is achieved through replacing the trigger assembly.
Hatsan Blitz Safety Recall Update – Trigger Installation
Firstly, Hatsan USA has issued some excellent instructions for those customers who wish to replace the trigger assembly themselves – rather than sending it back to HatsanUSA in Bentonville, AR. This is available in video form on YouTube, as you can see here:
In addition, there’s a good, old-fashioned hard copy version available here: https://hatsanairgunsusa.com/wp-con...sembly-with-Diagrams-Parts-Lists-09092026.pdf
This written version also includes full parts assembly diagrams for both models, including trigger assembly details.
Kudos to HatsanUSA for making this information available in such a professional manner!
Hatsan Blitz Safety Recall Update – Owner Support
In addition to this, I have been able to confirm that both Pyramyd Air and Airgun Depot have contacted customers who purchased these airguns from them directly, advising them of the recall. Well done Pyramyd and AGD!
HatsanUSA has also added an useful Recall Submission Form to their website to assist owners in contacting the company.
This recall applies to guns that were sold between February 2020 and March 2026.
Although not specifically stated, I believe that the Blitz and Blitz 777 have not been sold by Pyramyd and Airgun Depot for several months and will not be again until new production incorporates the required improvements. (I’m sure that would also apply to all other reputable dealers selling Hatsan airguns, too).
