So how do you calibrate the first Hill? Genuinely interested.

Had it done at the RFD, where I bought it

When you said "we" I incorrectly assumed you had been involved with the calibration.

So the new you can but the same ld maybe swap out sensor?

Or the electronics is run by software or flash memory( bios chip) ?

Now thing is does the old have the build quality as the new to handle increase in pressure safety? ...lol.

Hate to think the old used a thin wall tube or something so to say that can't as the new model got thick wall ..

Ya know for the price of one could buy me 2 nice hw springers and not ever worry about any of this just to go shoot ..

I've no intention of altering anything on my old Hill, it's had most of the upgrades available for the model. Been on first name terms with Hill staff for some time. They have looked after me.

I still use springers, haenel, fwb, Diana etc. I've a few. Problem is they are crap for distance, wind, heavier pellets, slugs etc.

Often you need to broaden the approach and apprenticeship, one day I enjoy sitting in my yard, plinking 65 or so meters, next session at a local field,I'm hitting targets at distances I thought impossible a few years ago.

PCP is pushing the boundaries, without it I'd still be shooting as I was 50 years ago. Boing.

Fortunately, air rifle shooting is something that stimulates me. Across it's whole spectrum of caliber, power and technology.

Addiction, no, I classify it as diversity.

I’m very interested in one of these Hill EVOs. Everything I’ve read and watched has been great. I’ve read some who have said they can fill bottles within reason. And it makes sense with the way it monitors the heat and auto cooldown. But I wonder when it purges the line I was curious if everyone’s feedback. I bought a small pony bottle to have at the range and would LOVE to be able to fill it and my Gunnar.

Hey brother yeah IMO you can probably fill small pony bottles once in a while. I had the original ec3000. They are built like tanks. I believe it purges when it hits a certain set temp to allow to cool. Fill times are long on pony bottles because of the fact that it purges. Not trying to steer you away from
This one it’s an excellent unit BUT it’s heavy to lug to the range. GX CS4 offers the best of both worlds at 1/2 the cost and weight plus better fill times because I won’t stop to purge. I have this one and i fill pony bottles all the time.

Pyramyd air just has/had a sale on them! I priced it but it was $300 to get it to my door so not so cheap after that! Was on sale for $1000 I believe... It is the compressor of my dreams, as Mike said great for small bottles but don't be filling any big dive tanks. Some day maybe...

Yeah, that’s what got me looking at them so seriously. Didn’t want to post about it in @AirgunsofAZ ‘s thread though. I know they are competitors. I’d much rather support a smaller business like AOA if at all possible.

I’ll put that one on my radar as well! One of my big drawbacks to the Hill was portability issue…..

I saw it in person when I bought my ghost 2 months ago sitting on the store counter....salesman may have been hinting It is compact and fit on the counter nicely, but yeah I bet it's got some heft! Seems well made and all reviews I've watched seemed spot on about quality.
