Okay I should be out of town, but sometimes you just have to be home to see your new toys. I will post this several places that i post so sorry if it is a repeat.
I definitely have a Falcon X and I must say first impressions are "this thing is nice" and "wish the stock was the same color as the thumper". Seriously the rifle is nice. I have not got this feeling in awhile from an air rifle. The last major purchase was the AvengeXL and all of the Pinty's just feel nicer.
The box had the rifle o-rings and 2 Magazines. These are the same mags as the Thumper and Striker I own. It is nice that the Maple Mags I have will fit. I did a quick clean and the rifle was definitely cleaned before I got it. It took a few tries to find some rings that fit properly. Not sure if the production models will have the odd rail like the MK2 Strikers do. I hate the I could not run a offset cantilever mount I bought for it. Luckily I have a ton if rings and got the Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 6-24x50 mounted.
Only got to shoot for a short period so I set up on the 30 yard range. Gun had 200 bar and I topped it off to 250 and threw a cheap bipod on it.
I know what everyone wants to know.......... the thing will shoot. LIKE REALLY SHOOT!!!! I will say out of the box this is the best shooting rifle i have ever owned. To include powder burners. It took 6 shots to zero and I did not need to touch it after in all the shooting. It does love JSB 18.13 Jumbo Heavy DIABOLO pellets. I shot a few JSB 15's that the Thumper likes and some H&N 21's. It also likes AEA 18's I have. Here are some numbers on JSB over 61 shots.
Low: 916
High: 935
Avg FPS: 928
Spread:19
STD Dev: 3.2
I am not sure if all of them will be this good, but if so I would tell you to buy one. Incredible shooting gun. It fits me well and the ergonomics of the bullpup let me adjust my hold so I am easy on the trigger. Speaking of the trigger it is pretty good. Predictable and breaks clean. The balance is just right between standing off shoulder or rested. Not to light, but not to heavy. Just good. I would like a little better take with a little cleaner wall, but that is splitting hairs.
I get on a plane early tomorrow and will be out of the country for a few week. When I am back I will stretch it out. I think it will be just as accurate at 75 as 30. I will have to see at 100, but suspect sub two inch groups will be no problem.
