Good morning All,

I have a gen 1 marauder BP2263 .22 cal and when disasembling to fix a leak i found some corrosion on the inside of part number:1763-001 pressure tube. Does anyone manufacture these? Crosman stated they do not. Has anyone else ran into this issue?

Thank you

Yes unfortunately this is a common issue with old Marauders. The corrosion is usually the result of filling with no desiccant system - typically from a hand pump.

Crosman discontinued this part several years ago. There's no replacement that I know of.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings 😢

I am surprised no one has manufactured an anodized aluminum aftermarket replacement.

A tip I read years ago to prevent corrosion from hand pumping was to occasionally place a drop of Lucas Silicone Shock Oil or similar silicone oil in the fill nipple before pumping. I have done this every fourth or fifth time I pump my .25cal Disco tube build gun. I disassembled it last week to check things out after 5 or 6 years and the tube, Magnum Air aluminum valve and Hill de-pinger were as clean and new as the day I assembled them. I pump at least once a week with a China pump that has no desiccant assembly on it in the shop most times. I think it works to keep problems away.

There are quite a few interchangeable parts Gen 1 to 2, and parts are comparatively plentiful for Gen 2, might look at a conversion to Gen 2. I have a Gen 1 .177 with a particularly good barrel, but a bad air cylinder, I believe that is the direction I am going.

The air tube, receiver and bolt are different between gen 1 and gen 2. Several years ago Jefferson State Air Rifles made some aluminum air tubes for the Marauder, and they genuinely knocked a pound or so off the rifle weight. But I think there were some issues with the inside being a teensy bit oversize and hard to maintain a seal - at least I ran into that a couple of times. Also, I think you had to run a PEEK/delrin hammer or risk binding. It's been an while so hard to recall the details.
