Panthera FX Panthera MKII .30 700mm My First FX

A little disappointed, I received the new pellet liner and carbon fiber tube today. The carbon fiber tube does not fit. It gets stuck part way in. I ended up using the one that came with the rifle. I guess I won’t be gluing the liners into the tubes anytime soon lol.
Well that is a bummer. I have been in similar situations and in weighing my options had decided to try something rather than do nothing. If the part doesn't fit, make it fit. What else are you going to do with the tube, right? All that is needed is to oversize the interior so that it will slide over the liner. It doesn't have to be a great fit, the epoxy will fill all the gaps. If you are saying that the carbon fiber tube won't fit into the steel barrel tube, than sand down the exterior of the carbon fiber tube. I know that I don't have to tell you, but I will mention it for others, wear a filtered mask, the dust is dangerous. This is just my opion on it. I mean why not? Nothing magical about any of this stuff.

I was thinking the same thing. It just pees me off lol. I went through a lot with this order. First shipment didn’t include the liner or tube. Then when I went to try a new tin of 65gr pellets from the same order, they forgot to pack those too. Eventually it was all taken care of and I reordered the liner and tube and the tube doesn’t fit. I’m jinxed with airgun shipments lol.

I’m going to increase the hammer a little and see if that helps. I may have taken it down too far. This is two mags of 13. It was a fresh slow fill from a bottle at 300bar. I waited an hour before shooting. First shot is always a throwaway. Shot 14 is first shot of second mag. It IMG_3164.webpIMG_3165.webpIMG_3166.webpIMG_3167.webpIMG_3168.webpwas a minute or so after the first mag. It was dark so I had to quit.

Well, you already nailed it for what I was going to say. Just know that I did smooth out the bellville washers in my Huma reg, and you could try that with yours, couldn't hurt. You also need to wait at least five seconds between shots with a Amp reg. A Huma is a little better by a second or two but even with it I do wait until I see the bar guage stop moving. The other thing to think about is that slugs are way more precise than pellets, they have to be to work at all. My ELR and AM slugs have no variation, they all weigh the same and are the same size. There isn't any weighing or sorting needed. That, and not just the Huma, has a lot to do with why I have 0 to 3 Sd's. Only the Hyper Lines are bad in my gun and I am pretty positive that the fault there is with them and not the gun.

Yeah, I’ll probably spring for a Huma if there’s no improvement. I’m also going to drop the reg back to 110bar and drop the velocity back down to 890ish. I’ll give it some more time to settle. I probably do shoot too fast, I’ll slow down and will watch the gauges.

I will add, that I like running regulators between 150 - 165b, wether I need to or not. I just think that they work better under load, and I like a quick hit of air and a closed valve. This always worked better for me than trying to turn down the pressure and getting more shots. I like accurate shots, period, that way I don't need many. Just my opinion on it.
edit: I also think that using a higher pressure in combination with a faster hammer hit is better for consistency. Everything is working to it's upper limit and the locktimes are faster and it aids startup inertia. In rimfire shooting I had a guage to measure rim thickness because that would effect locktime of ignition, and I sorted Eley rimfire ammo. Locktime is way more important with air so I try to maximize everything.

I’m reducing it, because I believe I may be corkscrewing. With the FX having so much power, I just fell into shooting at 930-990fps. The Sonoran shoots the AEAs best at between 850-900. My last mag shot another circular group, which just seems too odd to be a coincidence. It happened the other day too. This was with the 1:40 liner, which I doubt likes 950+ fps. I didn’t take a photo tonight becaut was dark. But, it’s on the steel and so I will tomorrow. Basically a shot string that forms a circular string instead of a cluster.
