LOL I don't mind being the Guinea pig, today I went started fresh with the Sonoran, after dialing everything back, I started the day just finding the tune, (still working on that) I started first with the Daystate Howler (which are not being made anymore by Daystate) I think I heard they were made by NSA?This thread is all over the place...count me in, lol!
.22 is, and forever shall remain (quote me, i dare you) "THE" airgun caliber. Pellet & Slug selection, range of power (sub12 to 100+fpe), ammo cost, air efficiency, & great B.C. numbers from heavier slugs and Mrds. I believe the Halos have been released in .30cal first as so many people haven't had luck shooting slugs in many .30 cal guns.
As crappy as restrictions are; .22 in Africa, .177 in @Soren Drosts country, Sub12 in the U.K. etc they "force" people to push things to the limits and the benefits trickle down to the rest of us for sure.
I have been putting my .177 springers to work pesting lately and I am beyond impressed! Just picked up some 10Gr hades pellets, my brother was gonna toss em as they were dismal out of his Diana 350. Well my TX loves em, and they are accurate, and they slap pests!!
@Billm these Halos should shoot well outta of you Sonoran, maybe wait and see how gunea pig (aka @duchunter007) makes out with them!?
Hating Matt Dubber is like hating that 600hp AWD K20 honda civic at the drag strip....you see & hear about them everywhere but this thing is effortlessly slaying the competition. He has advanced the airgun community BIG TIME, both with his channel, and product innovations.
Once I got done adjusting the reg and the hammer spring and the power port on the 3 I took 20 shots with an average of 849fps and 2.4 SD, think, and it shot a good decent group at 100 yards.
Then I shot the Air Impulse slugs, the wind started picking up when shooting them.
21 shots at 100 yards 881.9 FPS and 4.0 SD, need to work on that tune some more!
Overall I was happy with both of the slugs, I have had good success with the Howlers and it was the first time shooting the the Air Impulse slugs, when I finished shooting the Sonoran I started shooting the Ghost with my new 23 inch barrel, I was happy how that was shooting but the wind decided to kick up to 25mph which made shooting on targets fun.........
More to come when the Halos arrive.
