FX DRS New Wood Stock Design Development

i have had great results with Watsco danish oil
i would have loved to see more of that curly maple grain on the outside, but that is just me, i have always liked the walnut building dulcimers and psaltries
now if i could get you to make a stock for my venturi bullpup2 so it wasnt so bulky and heavy, more like the pinty
of course that is just wishfull thinking, i think the Maple with Bacote accents on outside would be good haha
Having run CNC in oilfield industry i can appreciate the work involved--great job Loren

Loren, will your DRS stocks work with the new MK2 barreled action?
Honestly I do not know, It looks like they will fit once the cap on the bottom of the plenum is removed to install the action in the stock and then replaced once the action is in the stock. There maybe some slight difference in the trigger group inletting (There is between the Classis & Pro). Once they come off backorder I will buy one and make sure everything fits.

Thanks, I would have loved to have a big slab of that curly maple. The board was actually stunning looking, but it was thin, so I used in as the core in the layup. I will have to keep an eye out for some Bacote large enough to do stock work.
I will keep an eye on Venturi bullpup2 and see if there is any potential for more than a one off. Right now my next up is a couple of designs for the FX King.

there is no feeling like taking a raw piece of wood and cutting, sawing, sanding, and putting a good finish on it
and say i did that
i built dulcimers in Branson for years, when you finished and put strings on it and tuned it ,the first thing i would play was Amazing Grace-if that sounded good anything i would play would sound good
then you put your name on it, so there was no question of who made it- you have pride in the accomplishment

Loren your work is fantastic
just asking as a newby about what would the price be for a simple single wood stock for avenger BP2
just want to get weight down so it is not so top heavy with scope
again beautiful work ty
