i dont have a lot of experiance with scopes from all the differant folks out there but dont most scope companies have a warrent y like that?
i know Hawke just replaced a scope for me ( now that dont make a good scope mind you but they did replace it ).

No. Most are not transferable and need registration or paperwork proof of purchase. Which in most cases I don't blame them for doing so at the high end because of the money involved. Some companies have recently changed their policies too. I believe it was Bushnell. You basically can't take anything for granted anymore.

I do know Hawke has an airmax model in 10x power. Springer rated with the Hawke warranty too. I like airmax enough to get another....I also wonder on why there isn't more fixed scopes. I own 9x and 12x scopes and rarely ever put it on a lower magnification. Like Farmplinker2 asked....what is your main use for this scope/gun, it seems it would work well to 50y?

Well, I have probably 20 scopes and 4 or 5 are fixed power, but they're my favorites. Less lenses to look through, less complicated, and no shrinking reticle as in FFP scopes. I have Two SWFA SS scopes in 10X and 12X, one Optisan 10X, one Hawke 10X, and a Veyron 10X. I haven't found my holy grail for hunting, a 6X AO, but I'm looking.
It seems like in a scope line, such as Hawke Airmax or Vector Veyron, the glass in a fixed scope is just a bit better than the variable scopes in the line. I'm guessing it's because there are less lenses needed and that helps clarity. Both my Airmax and Veyron are a bit clearer than their counterparts. Also, I'm used to taking my variables to a certain power and leaving them there. If it's a SFP scope, i usually leave them at whatever the reticle is calibrated for.

Looks like the 10x fixed is the best all around ?
