PCP Eyeballing an Air Arms HFT500

Ya know its kinda funny sitting here thinking about this. I have a red wolf very accurate gun, i have a revere another very accurate gun but the ghost on styx is just amazing anyway for me cause i am almost as accurate with it as if i were shooting from the bench!!!
i have had my yeys on the look for maybe a used revere how does the AA stack up? on the same leve with each other?
probably not grabbing eother anytime soon but we all know what kiiled the cat

The only air arms i own and have shot much is a 2012 ev2 12 fpe and an amazingly accurate gun. My revere is just as accurate as my red wolf the edge going to the red wolf for hunter field target because of its weight. Its steadier on the styx but then again the revere is a touch better offhand. I would guess the air arms is accurate but how it handles i can’t say.

So I call my S510 the 'air cannon' just because it's so long. Longer means more air tank and more barrel! Shot count is important to me and I get a full 55 shots in .22 @ 30fpe on a 280cc tank from 250 to 150 bar. That is amazing! However it is the super light as well so it is HORRIBLE offhand. No joke! HFT expert I am not but I'd go with the Ultimate sporter (heavier and shorter) in laminate for sure then. I am fully planning to get a ghost myself as you may know 😋....but that marvel also cost an extra $1000 vs the air arms. Depends on what your collection "lacks" 🤔😜

My best score to date with the ghost was a 50 at the pa cup and I didn’t have this setup so I'm looking forward to my best scores this year with the ghost!! Side note im proud of is i beat John Bagakis the daystate sponsored shooter at the cup!

I have an HFT 500 which is the most deadly accurate gun in my vast collection at up to 55 yards. Don't worry about shot count-you will get plenty. I get at least 75 or more. The only advantage the AA 500 has is that the power is adjustable, so you can shoot 12 fpe to more than 20. I can's say how accurate it is in comparison, but I have an AA 510 which shoots well but not as good as the HFT500.

Thank you for that it’s nice to hear from an actual owner of both. Being not regulated it doesn’t seem to make a difference in accuracy

I bought the HFT500 last year from Pyramyd. It’s a fantastic rifle. I don’t shoot HFT I just fell in love with it the moment I saw it on the Pyramyd site. I take it to my club and shoot out 50 yards with it. Extremely accurate.

I understand the desire. When I looked into air rifles many years ago I wanted a Daystate, Air Arms, and the Royale 400 I ended up buying. The unregulated initial Royale I had was a great gun, the walnut stock is what made me get one.

Fast forward over a decade and I have a Daystate, Brocock, and have been looking at an Air Arms S510 TDR. I love air rifles that don’t try to be anything except air rifles. Pellets for this guy.

I hear ya on pellets. I do have a smattering of slugs that should be twist compatible with my Evol .22. I have not had the chance yet to try at the range. I have zero complaints with pellets getting the job done. I don’t see the slugs being any more accurate in the 50 yard max I work in and can’t really justify the significant cost difference between the two designs.
