EVOL EVOL MINI what scopes?

This thread has got me looking at and researching various light 10x scope alternatives. Found a used MTC 10x50 prismatic scope and decided to buy it. When I get it next week, I will mount it on my Epic Two .177 carbine and post how it works for me. Not sure if I'm going to like it but my MTC Connect zero eye relief 3-12x24 scope mounted to my Leshiy Classic has proven to be an excellent combination. All the reviews I have found like prismatic scopes with the exception of the eye relief and that isn't an issue for me.

I have tried an in-expensive LVPO scope in the past but had an issue with the fixed parallax. Hopefully the Ares ETR UHD 1-10x24 will work out for you. It is a lot higher quality than what I tried.

As long as you like the zero eye relief scopes you should be all set. I've never taken to them - just something with mounting the scope so far back.

welli called and cancilled the order for that Ares ETR UHD 1-10x24 ATMR3 FFP IR MIL just thinking about it more and more i think i will just hold out for a few more weeks and get the HELOS i wanted in the first place or maybe another midas tac.

how much better is the glass in the MIDAS TAC?
at first my thoughs was the HELOS BTR GEN2 2-12×42 AHMR2 FFP IR MIL but not sure
the leangh is 11.8" and the weight 25.4 oz
as for the MIDAS TAC HD 4-16×44 APRS2 FFP MIL
the leangh is 14.2" and the weight 23.8 oz
aside form the leagh it would apear the MIDAS TAC might be a better choice?


i am also now looking at the HELOS BTR GEN2 4-20×50 APRS6 FFP IR MIL a little more magnification?
the leangh is 13.3" and the weight 27.6 oz
a little heaver
all about is the gain worth the trade? and if the differance between the HELOS and the MIDAS TAC glad is large enough the the MIDAS TAC wins out i think

I understand your thought process completely, I was between the same ones. If my eyes were not going wonkey I would have gotten the Helos BTR Gen2 4x20 too. As things are, the 2-12, and it's reticle suit me better. You've got to get what works for you.

MIDAS TAC HD 4-16×44 is also on sale at Midway at the moment. Great glass.

Love the clarity and field of view. Not so happy with mounting height but I don't hunt or carry in the field, so scope height isn't an issue other than the looks.

Yes, I can lower it (and will). But at the current (initial) height my head/eye placement is about perfect. I think I can lower it about an inch by not using the picatinny riser along with using the long scope picatinny mount that came with the scope plus lowering the cheek rest and adjustable butt plate. I am going to play with the mounting, but it will still be higher than I would prefer.

I played around with it last night and removed picatinny extender/spacer and installed long picatinny rail mount that came with scope. Move cheek rest down as far as it would go and adjusted butt stock (down and length of pull). Overall length of pull is now at 15". Good fit for me and scope as low as it will go.

Interesting benefit of large FOV is I can see the prairie grass below and around target to help with wind estimation. I'm really liking this prismatic scope!

I finally settled on the MIDAS TAC HD 4-16×44 I like the scope I have it on other guns so I just got another one. I I find somthing I like better later I can move it to another gun so its a win win. : )

The EXACT scope I want for my S510! Clear glass @pan60 ? Seems to be about the same quality as my Helix but better glass.

I just looked it up. Not bad at 23.8oz and 14.2" length. I'm looking to replace my SWFA fixed 10X on my Daystate Hunstman Regal and that Midas Tac 4-16 looks like a contender. No illuminated reticle but I think I'll manage without it. I just want something light weight on my Huntsman.

If you want something fun, a day and night optic, take a look at the DNT Zulus optic. I have been having a blast with mine as of late. The image is not that bad, and the quality of the recording is very good. And the price isn't all that tough to swallow as well.

yea I so would like one but I have to biuld up some curage as I am not super tech savvy.

I have one on the want list
I almost got one but I figure I better get the glass first then I can look at one of those a bit later
been thinking about a red light but I just hate to spend the money on one of those then not use it.

On preorder for a mini. Going to use either an MRAD STAC 4-20x50 or 3-16x42. I own both of those scopes, but also considering a Nexus G2 4-25x50. Pesting. Thoughts?
