If you’ve never heard of DVOR it’s the sister company of Optics Planet where you can get stuff at a pretty good discount. Here’s the catch that they won’t tell you from what I’ve experienced. The scopes are where my experience is. They sell them as “new” but I’ve noticed a lot of these scopes there’s something “off” mostly it’s been parallax issues. Dvor seems ok for low end scopes but when performance is required I’d stick to other retailers. I was tempted to buy a hawke sidewinder FFP for $599 normally they retail for $799 or something but I didn’t because for HFT precise ranging is required. Anyway just something I thought I’d put out there. I’ve purchased a few scopes and they’ve all had parallax issue. Some might not care but I do.

I'm concerned that an advertised min. 10 yard parallax is only 15y....

That’s exactly what is happening they won’t focus down to 10. another example is i had an Element Helix SFP from DVOR that when used in cold weather the parallax wheel had slop in it.

I think you're right about staying away for really high end stuff. I have read about people having problems with returns. If you get what you ordered, and it is new, you can save a lot of money though, so I can certainly understand people rolling the dice. I know I have.

Dvor sells lots of name brand scopes and yes, it's the bargain basement outlet of Optics Planet. I suspect a lot of stuff they sell are overstocks, customer returns and maybe factory refurbs. If you buy a name brand scope that has a problem, then the manufacturer should cover it under their warranty. I've bought several scopes from them, including some higher end stuff, and never had an issue.

I used DVOR several years ago and was actually pretty pleased with the experience overall, given the horror stories I hear about Optics Planet (who I’ve yet to use). Prices were good, shipping was fast, and the scopes I got (I remember one was a Burris XTR2 3-15x, but I don’t remember the other) were as advertised. I eventually graduated to higher-level optics that DVOR didn’t offer and/or found other retailers I liked better or that offer more of what I was looking for.

I may have to check them out again, though. I don’t think most of my airgun uses need the higher level optics, so they may be worth another look.

They have sent me several offers that join over the years. After looking at the little that they will tell about their stuff, I passed. Sounds like it is exactly what I'm not looking for.

If you are very careful, you can find some good deals, but as stated earlier all DVOR products tend to be seconds. I have bought several Bugbuster cheap scopes and they work ok. I think there may be issues with holding zero on some of them, but they work ok for the price. I wouldn't buy a March High Master from them, tho.

Bugbusters? Those are cheap clunkers and may or may not work properly. I bought two Sightron S3 scopes and they were just fine. Even though you may be lucky and get a higher end scope from DVOR, the manufacturer's warranty is still applicable.

Another thing to be aware of with Dvor is their return policy.
When you return an item, you do not get your money back.
You get a store credit.
They do not keep this secret.
