Do you own any of these pistols or carbines? If you do I would love to hear about what you have? What do you use it for and how does it fit into your airgunning? How does it perform? What are its high and low points. What’s it’s optimum range? Not its greatest range, but what is the ideal distance for your airgun to get the job done? What do you shoot with it? Is it adequate for the intended use, straight from the box or does it require substantial modification? I’m trying to get a full grasp on what airgunners really use these carbines and stocked pistols for and how they use them. IMG_2471.webp

I have a pathfinder 177. While the trigger had a solid back wall and clean break, I couldn't get over the 2.5lb pull weight so I sent it off to derrick wall and he made it a 6 oz pull weight. Much better now. The folding stock has some play at the folding mechanism which derrick said is common with brk folders.it needs a moderator imo and the plastic stock is just ok. The factory mags dont have a stop when empty so you will fire air if you arent paying attention. Got some maple mags and that solved that issue.

With all that in mind I really like the gun for 5-50 yards on piney and chipmunks. Im pushing 12fpe currently and its a nice rig. I would have to call it semi compact though. I know you can fold the stock, but coming from gk1s and edgun lelyas, those are true compact rigs compared to the pathfinder and are packable on a different level(thinner profile). I like the pathfinder enough I'll be keeping it in the rotation and as a loaner since imo its more user friendly than the gk1s for none airgun people.

I bought mine out of curiosity and to have a semi compact, low powered 177, that I could shoot a bunch for cheap. Hopefully that covers everything you were asking. If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.

I own a Ghost and the Sonoran and I like BRK and so the Pathfinder is very appealing. What kind of groups do you get at 40-50yds?

Currently own
Artemis PP700SA 177/22/25
Umarex Notos 22
PP750 177
Leshiy Classic 177/22/25
Crosman 2250 22 cal CO2

Have owned
BRK Atomic XR 22
It was a great gun, but I'm a tinker/project guy and it was just too boring haha

These are all pest/plink guns for me. It is the ideal size for suburban pest work. If It is a longer shot, I am going to use my Bullshark 177 or P35 25. I will plink with the small ones out to 30.
If it has a regulator I will always tune the rifle. The Notos can pest/plink just fine the way it came. The Atomic was also great out of the box.

I own both, an Atomic and Pathfinder in .22, they both have been stellar for me. My Atomic has been flawless out the box. Hundreds of kills from 25 to 40+ yards and I plink with it for fun out to 102 yards. Was plinking black walnut husk from 25 to 50 yards the other night. I see the hits and am simply amazed at what it can do, 17 FPE has been irresistible to myriad birds, rats and squirrels. My Pathfinder at 24 fpe is just as good with a higher shot count, the trigger could be lighter. As for the bit of play in the folding stock? A small section of an ice cream stick inserted in the gap, zero play. I plink with it regularly at 25, 40, 50, 60, 64 and 102 yards. My kills are typically in the 40 to 70 yard range. Furthest kill with my Pathfinder at 111 range finder measured yards on a grackle… I actually prefer them over my Ghost Carbine… Do a search on my threads, am a serious fan because of their performance afield. All my BRKs have been simply unboxed, scoped and put to work…IMG_0122.webpIMG_1515.webpIMG_0085.webpIMG_1803.webpIMG_0541.webpIMG_0257.webp

Your Leshiy looks slick.

The Pathfinder is based on the same action as the Sniper, Sahara, Commander, etc. Simply solid, just finished another evening plinking session with my Atomic. Rats or any pests of similar size are simply toast out to 40 yards. The Atomic is as solid as my Ghost Carbine but in a smaller form factor. The pests? They can’t tell the difference…

Well I'm poor, so I'm on the low end scale with the Notos. Bought it last year, for up close squirrels and chipmunks. Got it all put together, looks and feels excellent. Installed a pair of good folding AR sites on top rail. aired her up, no leaks at all. Started plinking at 20 yards, was accurate, but kinda disappointing on power level. The cheap eBay chrony showed spread of 690-700 fps. low mag cap stunk as well. The great people at Maple custom solved that issue anyway. now this was very early in my PCP life, so it took me a month or so to try to get more Poof outta this little carbine. Using the chrony like I read everyone say, I did get the little air hogging beast up to between 740-750 or so range. Course, paid for it with air usage. But, its worth it for sparrows and tree rats. However, I wouldn't recommend it being the gun to grab after dark, if your chickens or pets go crazy. Its nowhere near trash panda level, much less hungry coyote.
Accuracy wise, I was getting straight bulls at 20 yards. Just lacked much Thwack on impact. At 30, I could watch the pellet before it hit. And of all the pellets I tried, its favorites are CPHP. Good old American made! I wiped our Wal-Mart counter dry several times, bought them by the unopened sleeves. Haven't tried any of the new ones from Spain. Afraid they give the Notos indigestion and gas.

Zeroed at 25 meters and I shoot it out to 75 meters 👍🎯

MTC Copperhead 4-16 scope 👍🙂🎯

Thanks, I know you’re a top level marksman, but it shows what the short barrel BRK is capable of. I don’t believe the .22 Microstrike is capable of that kind of accuracy (yet). It’s not that I think a $400 pistol carbine should be as accurate as a $1600 pistol carbine. It’s more about what a short barrel, sub-20fpe carbine is capable of. Based upon your results and those of @Luis Leon it would be reasonable to say that an average user of an airgun with 10-12’ barrel should be able to shoot a 1-1.5” group at 40yds and a 2-3’ group at 75yds from a rest.

Have a 22 pathfinder shoots great i just don’t shoot it that much unless with the grandkids. Only negative the folder slop so it gets a small piece of aluminum and electric tape to keep it in
I’ve read a couple of posts mention the slop. Interestingly the Microstrike folder has no slop, but the actual stock rattles a lot. At least compared to my ARs.

The Notos has a cult following. With the Microstrike, I’ve had Hades .22 well over 800fps, but with a very small 11-12 shot count. It definitely has a lot of potential. I’ve turned it back down to around 750fps. I’m having a lot of difficulty with the magazines and the single shot tray. But, that could be me.

My pathfinder stock had a little slop too a piece of gorilla tape fixed that though it is a little harder to adjust.i also added 1/4” to get a better cheek weld
