Hi Everyone, any stories or experiences about the Diana RWS 45 here? I just won an online auction and received it last Thursday, haven't opened the package yet, I hope it shoots as well as it looked online.

I'm afraid I can't be of much help. The first I heard of the RWS 45 was in a Beeman catalog from the early 80's. The velocity potential was impressive but the only time I saw one was at a gun shop where the clerk cocked it and fired it without a pellet in it to show another customer how loud it was. Since I knew that firing a springer unloaded could cause damage and the salesman apparently didn't, I decided to look somewhere else.

Congratulations to your purchase. Hope you are still good with it. The DIANA Mod. 45 was available in different technical versions over the years reaching from 1979 to 2009 in the production dates. If you have got any questions please let us know. Have fun and shoot streight.

Congrats on winning one of the most underrated springers there is.
Short cocking stroke, very good but unique trigger, easy cocking but heavy for its power output, not very jumpy, Excellent Build Quality (!), and Accurate.
Get your screws snugged up with some VibraTite and start testing pellets. Don't skimp on a scope if you want glass.

I am new to this forum, but not new to airguns.
I have owned my Original (another name used by Diana) Mod 45 (.177) since the mid 1980's and have enjoyed every minute of it. Mine was made in 1980 and is a nuisance for shaking the bolts out that hold the stock to the rest of the rifle. This can be an issue when out hunting as you don't always notice and can result in a broken stock. I have lost count of the amount of glue used to stick it back together. Fortunately modern thread locking compounds have improved in recent times so hopefully you will not suffer from this problem.
I hope you have as many happy years with yours as I have had with mine.

p.s. I also have a 75 rifle and a 6g pistol. Both made in 1980 and badged as Original.

Hi, it shoots nicely and I've probably put 200 pellets through it. Excellent build quality and accuracy. I enjoy all my Diana airguns!
