Spring/Piston Diana 36 owners or experience?

I picked up a Diana 36 .177 at a gun show a few years ago. It's a beautiful rifle. However I have not known any other owners with any knowledge of the rifle and have yet to really enjoy it as it lacked a rear sight and I have yet to put a scope on it. This one is stamped “Made in West Germany”. I assume it’s from the 80s.

That's correct. Well spotted.
I have a couple of old Diana's.
75, 65 and a 27.

Thinking you could use like GTA forum that's got a lot of traditional/ Diana guys and post a wanted on any hard to get parts like original sights . Never know who's got something dust collecting on a shelve .. most nice guys probly gift it to us too boot...

I have a T01 D36 in .177 that I "liberated" from a local firearms store. When I picked it up from the floor rack it was in, I broke the barrel to safety check it. Barrel was clear, but it had been left.on the rack cocked, no one.had any idea how long. Third springer I've found like that, actually.
Anyway, I love the D34 but THEY NEED A NON-SLIP BUTTPAD! and of course, the D36 wears the stock that the D34 always should have IMO. That is the only difference between them, and it makes all the difference.
I very much want a T01 D36 in .22, and there aren't many springers left on my bucket list. Wonderful rifles.

ps - the D36 I mentioned was scruffy and of course is now shooting soft at 10-11 fpe, but the original Diana spring (I assume) is still straight, consistent and twang free. The rifle is all sorts of accurate, and while I assumed that a new spring would be needed, I like it very much, and it's staying as-is.
